Today on Stol. Via Žirovniška gora, via Zabreška dol. Locally on Žirovniška a bit icy, but those spots cause no problems going up.

It was dawning. Start from Valvazorjev dom at six in the morning.

This is how the snowy sections of the path look.

A nice day formed - Stol is in the middle.

andr3ejj, as you can see from the above post we were up there on Sunday and I think the conditions haven't changed much. Most likely there's even less snow on Žirovski. Then from the saddle below Stol there's really some snow, but it can be bypassed a bit or crossed. In any case you should take at least small crampons with you, although you probably won't need them.

Stol, snapshots and conditions from 2 January 2016
Ascent without crampons, here and there a bit icy but bypassable so summit of Stol reached without problems nasmeh

If from the valley you judge that there's just some white patch, up top it's quite different. For a moment you even think that winter visited Karavanke too. I think there's no need to list the necessary gear for a safe ascent; some sections have living ice (pics from today)...
