Todi, my colleague and I also planned to climb this, but somehow we didn't find the access path. We didn't know exactly where by the road to enter the scree. We came from Zelnice. To simplify the route, we entered the upper track on scree right from Beljščica saddle. Somehow almost 1.5 hours we pushed through scree, nasty rocky parts and apparently just before last wavy scree we went down. Then to the road, where the bench is, but no signpost. Need to go further down road to those signpost boards? Of course we'll repeat in summer.

Velkavrh@ exactly one year ago today we met above Završnjica, me and Tinky, if you remember. Anyway, entry to climbing section from mentioned bench down ca 5 min to signpost, then scree ca 10 min and you're at climbing part.

I was there two years ago. Yesterday we got carried away and unnecessarily crossed entire scree from start almost to end - very tiring. Before end apparently descended too soon and missed ferrata exit.
Remember our first meeting very well, when rock nearly hit you on scree below Begunjščica.

How is parking at Valvasorjev dom? I saw that parking in front of the hut is allowed only for guests... what do you recommend for parking? We chose the Žirovniška path and Zabreška for descent.

Before Valvasor there is plenty of space to park. If you leave it left down from the hayrack, no one will bother you. Also a bit lower by the road there is some spot for the car. You'll squeeze it somewhere. There is also a nice and arranged parking lot right at the bottom in Završnica, which extends the tour by less than an hour. From Završnica to Valvasor you don't walk on the road; there is a footpath through the forest, not strenuous, gently ascending.

Pikica1, and others too... I've already been up Stol directly from Valvasorjeva and from Ljubelj, so I'm interested in this third approach... regarding parking at Završnica... I assume it's this starting point:

in the description for the approach it says:
''… to the parking lot near Tinčkova koča. The road in the upper part is often in quite poor condition.''
I'm wondering if it's currently in such a condition that it's suitable for a somewhat lower car? I've already experienced scraping several times, once even got stuck, and some damage resulted as well.

Lakkon...Yesterday I drove this road. Road "okay-ish", except just before Tinčkova koča there are two pretty deep ditches. And there's parking space nearby.
