I don't know how passable the other paths to Stol are.. definitely though in winter the Žirovniška is the most crowded..

Ploha, did we meet just below the summit and exchange a few words? 
I went up the Žirovniška where probably most go.. I drove by car to Valvazorjev dom (without chains) where the keeper advised against parking, because someone got a fine a few days ago and because the road is reserved for sledders, so I drove lower instead and warmed up nicely to the hut, signs say the path extends by one hour but if you step well you get there surely earlier below I missed the sign that the road is closed and it's a sledding area, because if I'd seen it 100% I wouldn't have driven up with the car.. the keeper couldn't figure how I made it without chains but slowly it went and no problems (new tires).. Definitely advise against driving by car on this road or sledding area now

today on Stol via Žirovnica path, upon arrival at the ridge of Mali Stol and then towards Stol it blew quite strongly at times, otherwise significant thaw which made the ascent a bit harder.

Marko, you're not the only one who missed the sign. Two days ago, two of us also missed it, who on a nice morning quickly decided for enjoyment on the sunlit Stol. And we wondered why those two looked at us so angrily when we cheerfully slid past on the chains.
I have to admit I'm now quite angry that we were so careless and missed the sledding area sign, because we could have gotten an unsuspecting sledder under our wheels.

does anyone by chance know what the path to Stol is like? And how far can you drive by car?
Friday morning I plan to go up (Žirovnica path), if it doesn't blow too much.

Hi.
We went up on Sunday. The road higher up is still snowy and since we had a lower car we didn't make it to the hut. We parked below by the meadow where the path turns left into the forest towards the hut. At the hut one SUV was parked so if you have a similar car probably OK to the hut. From the hut the path is trampled but higher not in switchbacks but direct. Colleagues did the whole path without crampons, I had those you strap on rubber, ice axes on the backpack cuz we didn't need them.

Wrong Dejan. Called him, advised winter gear. Yesterday's wind blew old track so I made new one to gully between Little and Big Stol. There base super. Didn't need winter gear, others did. Weather bad (cloudy, windy, cold). After 12 improved. Regards
