Last writer, maybe it would be nice if a dog shat on you and really bit you so that plastic surgery wouldn't help you anymore. Then you wouldn't write such nonsense here????? Probably not!!!jezik

SOME NEED DOGS, SOME CHILDREN, SOME SOME SPORT, OTHERS NEED TRAVELS, SOME CIGARETTES SOME BOOZE. SO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND LEAVE PEOPLE AND DOGS IN PEACE.

It's hopeless to argue with you. Better take your dog. Put him on a leash and take him for a walk. Pick up his poop and throw it in the prepared bins. That's all that needs to be done, it's not too much to remember even for you. I hope. If you do that we'll all be happy in the end. Dogs too.

Well, see, it's not hard to remember a few things, you'll learn some more slowly and it will work for you too. Next point: tolerance and culture. I hope you learn that slowly too. Although it's harder than picking up poop. Be persistent and patient. Like us who jump over poop and step aside for dogs.

SHUT UP ALREADY AND BETTER GO JUMP OVER POOP INSTEAD OF POLLUTING THE NET, OR GO FOR A WALK TO SOME MOUNTAIN PREFERABLY BY CAR SINCE THERE ARE ENOUGH ROADS IN SLOVENIA. I'LL GO STEPPING ASIDE FROM PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

Next point: don't make so many writing mistakes. Practice will fix that too. I feel sorry for your dog, who has such a limited owner. Traits are passed on, so take him to the shelter. There every dog finds an owner who is good, cultured and kind to everyone. Save the dog. There's no help for you. So I'm ending this debate with you. I'm not going to the mountains for a couple of days now, because I wandered around the Dolomites for 4 days. Nice. Also some dogs, on a leash and with fresh water on a 2890 m high mountain. Nice day and patience with people I wish you.

Just one more note on the above post. Don't lecture others on spelling mistakes if you can't write properly yourself!! Primitive.

I don't take my dog to the mountains, don't take him to crowded places, we always go as far as possible from populated areas... Why? Because of people! Or rather not them, but beings who look like people but aren't. And there are more and more of them. They stink of beer and schnapps they sip on the way uphill, in front of huts they stink with smelly cigs they throw just wherever they feel like, they go to shit in the nearby bush, wipe their asses with perfumed tissues that will decompose only in 10 years, meanwhile stinking to insects and other wildlife. Furthermore they think that since they've climbed some hill, they've grabbed God by the balls, they yell in huts, on group bunks they stink with their mixtures of uhh and ahh perfume and alcohol-cigarette sweat. They think they're the main ones in this world, their children chase unsuspecting cattle, kill ants, spiders...
I certainly don't wish such company on my dog either. There are fewer and fewer real mountaineers in the mountains, as someone wrote before, those who wish you good day from the bottom of their heart on the way up, those who give you half their seat by the stove in the hut, those who offer you a piece of their bread on the path...
Good times there were... Now I prefer to spend time with my family which includes a little doggy somewhere completely at the other end, away from everyone, where I peacefully listen to birds, watch little spiders weaving their web, play with the pup.

I've read about half of the comments, no time or will for all. I have two adult children, both love nature and animals, my son does photography as a hobby. I've had a dog for more than thirty years, I've been hiking for much longer than three decades and always take my furry one with me. We most like to go on vacation to the mountains, where it was at least until a few years ago more peaceful. No one in the family likes noise and crowds, which really disturb in nature. Rules unfortunately have to be written because of people who don't know how to behave with or without them and disturb others - for me that's loud talking, screaming and yelling, loud singing, littering and cigarette butts, especially boozing.
Every animal knows how to behave better than many people, especially in mountains it's always quite cooler than in the valley and at least I usually walk on soft grassy paths and avoid meeting especially large groups already for my own sake.
Whenever I go to the mountains, the dog will be with me too, who doesn't move from the backpacks when they're packing, usually even sleeps by them, as if afraid we'll forget him at home.
Such unpleasant people as some here, luckily I haven't met yet, but I have a dog so he's happy with us and not a yard decoration - for that there are garden gnomes.
That he's happy, as a connoisseur of dog soul I notice, many don't have that gift.
Praise to all dog caretakers who care how their best friends spend their short lives.
Nice greetings to good people!

Since the debate started going in the wrong direction I've stopped reading the forum. But today for fun I went to check if there's anything new and was surprised how many new messages you've written. After all I've read I don't even know what to say or think: once again I'd like to urge you all to BE PATIENT ALL!!!!
And this thought for the end:
BE KIND - EVERYONE YOU MEET IS FIGHTING A HARD BATTLE. (John Watson)
Let this thought be your motto every time you go not only to the mountains but out of the house or apartment in general, because I notice you generalize a lot and judge based on prejudices. First get to know the being (person or animal) and only then criticize or praise.

Best, Tijananasmeh

I notice something: on this forum I haven't come across a non-dog owner who was at least a bit friendly. Maybe Robi... Former owner, as I understood. I'm really sorry when I see how you insult us, a kind word doesn't find a kind place with some. Because you're just quite angry, nobody wants to understand or at least someone write: ok, you're not all the same. There are few like that, and even those who write it like to add some harsh thing on top (sorry if I missed some friendly comment recently, but they really get lost among all the attacking ones). Last time I went to a nearby hill near Kranj. A four-year-old girl was looking for some bugs. Me and my (LEASHED) doggy were sitting on a nearby bench enjoying the view. It seemed cute to me because the girl was so happily looking for bugs. But to my horror I realized she then steps on them!!! when her mom said: did you find any šuštarja (=beetle)? she said: Yes, but then I step on them. Mommy laughed and said: Yeah, you mustn't do that! To her darling added: Isn't she cute? The girl continued stepping on beetles, but I gave her an almost killer look, which of course wouldn't help, but then they left in screaming and shouting. Hm... Why then here only "dog shitters" are highlighted? For me personally 10 squashed beetles are much worse (because then I wonder what else this girl squashes in nature) than a squashed dog poo. And if now someone thinks about this that it was "just" beetles and that's a bit silly... Well it's also "just" about stop putting us all in the same basket. Best Z.

Actually not 10 squashed beetles... But EVERY squashed living being is worse for me than a squashed dog poo. But because of that I don't spit on all parents with small children, but rightfully get angry only at those who allow such behavior. And if the girl had continued, I certainly would have said something to HER mommy. But I wouldn't suddenly start talking against ALL parents. Is there a little difference here, huh? And to avoid misunderstanding: I also have a younger
sister and I like children and all nice people. AND animals. Thank God I don't live in prejudices. LP Z.

What impatient comments, full of prejudices and generalizations...

If the dog is properly trained, has stamina and a caring owner, then a dog in the mountains doesn't seem problematic to me at all.

Otherwise let the one without sin throw the first stone...

Oh and one more thing - a similar debate would erupt if we discussed cyclists in the mountains. I'd rather see no such impatient and annoying people in the mountains... jezik

Why is there already such a crowd on Velika Planina, when there is so much shit - cow shit, oh that shit is more sympathetic, reminds of a pancake ... and everyone is scared when they see a dog ... and I haven't met such people who have such phobia as some of you describe, we don't discard dogs, we take them with us!
And there are few dogs in the mountains that just bite everyone, if every one bites you, time to think a bit.
