To Triglav?

I think Edi2 didn't write pure nonsense, tolerance is really needed, which we often lack. Especially mark mountain trails intended for mountain bikers and thus warn hikers that the trail is also for them. A problem arises when a biker rushes past you where you least expect it and it can be fatal for both.

After 3 weeks on top of Triglav, already in Jesenice a snow shower hits me, my mate is already waiting for me in Mojstrana, as soon as we meet I suggest calling Kredarica to ask what the weather is like up there, the weatherman said it's fine, so we drive to Krma and hit the path, to the top of Kredarica without gear it's impossible, I practiced only the ice axe, the path is icy smooth, on the way to Triglav some new snow, on the summit full of satisfaction, people only a few, so we were alone on top and admired the beautiful views.

@ljubitelj gora: nice pics...pic no. 2....really none...not in valley at all...up there it's also more than half too little mrk pogled...if it continues like this soon there'll be none left even in the mountains....in summer rivers dry ...except our sewage will flow (it already does anyway)

Now I'm a bit more rested so I'll write a bit, yesterday I went and I'm still getting over a cold, still reached the top given current health, the soplaninec I met first time surprised me positively, his perfect gear that shows he cares. On the bottom pic you'll see candles a bit snow-covered, think that's from last time a female hiker slipped. On Kalvarija below Kredarica, at least think that's the name, hit 15 cm thick snow cover (hard ice base below), not settled, quick test showed totally unstable, though 1.level, slab of snow slid down slope for fun, so immediately change route (bit back more right)...At Kredarica on arrival windy, so decide go up right away while weather good and we did, on way met three hikers, one female's crampons broke so descending with extra crampons on ketnice, all three roped up, from MT to top quite some protections out so ascent easier, but ice axe nowhere to stick, return from MT to Kredarica awkward in spots, too little snow, also "undercut" step not to my liking at all, hope more snow falls and ascent easier, steps sunny side under MT bad...except shady side better. Winter Triglav ascent very demanding needs mandatory experience, ridge under Triglav exposed 30 cm path can be scary crossing. That's my opinionnasmeh

Also video from Triglav top.

Yesterday I was with two friends for the first time in winter on Triglav. Conditions were ideal and I wouldn't want them to be worse. Triglav in winter is very demanding, concentration must be at its peak all the time, not to mention gear and psychophysical fitness. Otherwise, the ascent to Kredarica is an extremely nice winter ascent, snow doesn't sink in, under Kalvarija it's wise to put on crampons, down we walked with crampons all the way to the car anyway. I hope I get some photos to post. Unforgettable day, but next weekend some less adrenaline tour. Have a nice time and safe steps if you go to our daddy.

Triglav in winter is only for the experienced in the hope that more snow falls, then it will be really nice.nasmeh

Me too yesterday on Triglav, conditions excellent as vespa already wrote, but very little snow (most protections exposed), so the ascent is only a bit like a real winter ascentnasmeh

Hi, I would like to ask more experienced mountaineers if it's smart to go Krma - Kredarica on Wednesday or Thursday of course with winter gear (self-belay harness, crampons and ice axe) and some experience. LP all

If going only to Kredarica, no need for harness and self-belay. In normal conditions the path in winter is relatively easy (but quite long), how it will be in the next days will be told by those who walk around here these days.
LP and good luck!
