No, you don't need them. I took both with me but didn't need crampons, ice axe wasn't much help either.

Maybe tomorrow to those parts. What's the path from Tržaška hut to Dolič to Triglav like? Is there still any snow?

Yesterday on the mentioned path from Zadnjica... http://hribi.net/izlet/zadnjica_triglav_cez_dolic/1/1/163 One snow patch is right before the hut, but you can squeeze behind between rock and wall... from Dolič onwards all the way to the junction (Triglav 1h) no snow... towards the top through the notch there are two snow patches, one trampled, the other can be bypassed on rocks... rest ok. Descent to Planika, which is also without issues...

Is it smart to go tomorrow (Friday 22.06.2012) to Triglav. Rain is forecasted. But at 6h it should stop, and start falling again at 18h. I would start from Krma valley at 4h in the morning. Return around 14h. Would anyone maybe join? nice day jernej

No no not worth it....tomorrow Friday already morning and forenoon from north increasing variable cloudiness, local showers and individual thunderstorms will appear. Wait for better weather, take time for views, rests and enjoy Triglav in all its beauty.

This year I plan to conquer Triglav and wonder which route to take. I'd like to do the tour in one day, so shortest path interests me. From description wouldn't go via Plamenice, which has shortest time. Fitness no problem, no severe vertigo. I assume I have to start very early. And if I get right, better during week. Happy for any advice.

Hi, is Triglav now snow-free (on paths)? Thinking Sunday Monday (24-25.6) via Triglavske and Planika. Weather obviously ok... Probably lots of people... ;(. Thanks for opinions.

How much walking time for route over Prag? Site says 6h but we know these times. Say for young hiker with decent fitness. How is that route for descent. Another recommended?

Same, the sign at Aljaž hut in Vrata gives the same info over Prag 6 hrs, that's time for average normal hiker. How much you shave fitness times, you know yourself, compare, probably not your first mountain trip. P.S. For descent into Vrata valley over Prag most recommended.

If you're in good shape you can make it in one day no problem, 8 to 10 hours round trip. If you're a mountain runner even much faster.

These times it can be halved if you're somewhat fit. I'm a lady and got to Kredarica in winter in 3.5 hours, summer in 2 hours 45 min from Krma. It also depends on why you go to the mountains; to recreate, for views, to rest, two or all of that, etc. Times depend greatly on the reasons. I agree with Kiwi. You know yourself best and you can already estimate that much if it's not your first time in the mountains. Good luck and post your Triglav later .

Is there still enough snow on the Plemenice route?

As someone before wrote, no need for ice axe (stayed on backpack) on this path, everything can be bypassed... Snow or snowfields only on Western Triglav Plateau anyway.

But you also need to consider that the heat won't last and it can cool quickly, snow becomes hard and frozen. Any slip on snow can end in rocks. This year there will be increased emphasis on determining the use or non-use of appropriate equipment in accidents.
