@jprim: no, I didn't go on the path over Mali Triglav. Over Škrbina probably next time. I believe there are few people there. Well, on my path they weren't exactly crowded.

On Saturday around five, four of us—two Savinja guys and two Poles—parked in Vrata. The thermometer still showed 26°C. We went up via Tominškova, which was already shaded below, but it wasn't felt much due to the heated ground. A little higher, we caught the sun and the heat was even greater. With wonderful views on Tominškova, we awaited the sunset, at its end the moonrise between Rž and Kredarica within less than an hour. In the Triglav house, we met the others who went up in the morning, some already at the summit. At night, a strong westerly blew. We got up just past three and quietly headed towards the top. On the top, we watched a nice sunrise, followed by the alpine baptism for first-timers on Triglav and descent over Škrbina to Lojze. Since I always like to detour a bit from the path, this time I led our group above Plemenice along the western edge of the Triglav wall above Sfinga. Followed descent over Plemenice to Luknja and past the bivouac under Luknja to Vrata. Yes, it was really nice. Great weather, great company, wonderful trip... Nice regards and safe steps from under the nice Golte, Janez

@LidijaJesih: Well, on the way from Planika towards the ridge I saw one dehydrated SLOVENE. And from where he crawled - not on the path but straight from some rocks he climbed onto the path. Don't know if he crossed from the path from Kredarica towards Planika,...

Pohodnik38, thanks for the wonderful video, to all hikers who were on Triglav in July, praise for the great pictures. I just hope this "warm" sunshine didn't burn you too much.

Viharnik, it's true. I'm attaching the full short description, maybe someone knows something new. "From Aljažev dom to the monument of fallen partisan mountaineers. From the monument we continue the path along the valley bottom towards the Triglav north face. The path first takes us through beech forest, where the path via Sovatna to Pogačnikov dom on Kriški podi branches right, SPP however moderately uphill in open terrain along Bistrica to the junction. The straight path leads to Luknja pass, we turn left, cross Bistrica and climb a short grassy slope to the split rocks of V Planjicah. Over ledges and long shelves, where pegs and wire ropes help us, we approach closely the famous Triglav wall. Perhaps we will notice a rope team of alpinists in the wall, betrayed by voices and hammer blows. Our path gently leads us along the edge of the wall towards the upper plateaus. Deep below us are Vrata. Along an extended gully past the last bushes we reach rocks, up which with the aid of wire rope and pegs we climb to a steep smooth jump called Prag or Medvedova skala (1580 m). This is a 10 to 15 m high smooth slab, over which densely driven pegs and wire rope help us climb. The name Medvedova skala however Prag got from a bear who allegedly many years ago fleeing from Trent hunters fell over this rock and killed itself. From Prag we turn steeply up towards the walls under Begunjski vrh on the left, then right over a wide cauldron under the s. walls of Vzhodna glava (2314 m). The path rises over some ledges and scree; above the highest ledge there is a spring by the path. From there we turn again towards the wall of Begunjski vrh, where the path over Prag joins Tominškova pot. Soon we are at Begunjski studenec." Sometimes we really just go and know nothing.

Lidija, the slope really looks like a step or ledge too, so probably both as landmarks of this path. About the bear I also heard the same story. Lp and safe travels!

My little self was also on Triglav on Sunday. We repeated last week's ascent, this time in the dark. Start at midnight from Rudno polje. We went with the intention to catch the sunrise. On Planika strong gusts of wind surprised us, so we sought refuge in the hut. Later my colleague and I head to the summit, catch the sunrise on Mali Triglav. On the summit we meet JTrogar's team and later good company was plentiful. We returned to Planika, where we picked up another team member, then continued towards Vodnikov dom in Voje valley, jump in the lake and home Beautiful day!

Hello, I'm wondering which hut is most suitable to overnight in based on our planned route? We start in the morning around 8.00 from Pokljuka and head to Triglav summit, then descend towards Triglav Lakes. Somewhere before the lakes we'll need to overnight, now regarding distance and time constraints where's best to sleep or which hut we'll reach on time (pace won't be the slowest, but won't be running either). Probably Tržaška koča is the most suitable, right? Or can we reach Zasavska koča in one day? Thanks and best regards!

Definitely best to overnight at Dolič. If you want to comfortably reach the crossing, you'd need to start about two hours earlier, and even with an earlier start I think for most it wouldn't be comfortable, as far as I know it's quite far to Zasavska koča.

Thanks 5Xum! Just one more question, which road gets us by car fastest from Bohinj to the starting point at the end of the road on Pokljuka? Is there a shortcut or do I have to go back to Bled and then towards Pokljuka...

The road leads to Pokljuka from both directions, I recommend checking the map to see exactly where it is, otherwise it's well signposted.
