Hello! With friends, we plan to climb Triglav on Wednesday or Thursday, from Vrata valley via Prag. One-day ascent. Please, more experienced ones, advise what the weather will be like those days? I've already checked forecasts on various sites but prefer to ask here for advice anyway. Thanks!

Dear bkolar, you don't think even the greatest Triglav and weather experts around it can reliably forecast a few days ahead today? Tough one! Pleasant ascent!

No need for an answer today, it's enough if someone replies one day before. I asked early because I didn't know how quickly I'd get a response! I agree with what you wrote! best

I understand. I already wrote a sentence in the previous post (and deleted it right away), that it might be sensible to ask the "locals" at Kredarica about the weather on the eve of departure. Yeah, I got scared that I'd do them a bad service; what if everyone asked them that way?! Well, something holds in general, whenever you ask something on the forum (not just about the weather, which is a story of its own), the weighty question arises, why or how much to believe the answer of a stranger?! Good luck!

A bit off-topic: Just listening to an interview on Val 202 with Igor Zlodej about how today with Friends of Triglav they are painting the Aljaž Tower on Triglav Bravo Igor, bravo PT!

It really had to be done today on Triglav, we replaced one anchor cable and professionally carried out the painting based on expert advice and opinions from the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, conservation and restoration expertise of the National Museum of Slovenia and in agreement with PD LJ-matica. We kindly ask all visitors to Triglav not to stick stickers on the Aljaž Tower, not to write their names, scratch the paint, not to climb on the tower and hang on the cables. In short, let it be as it deserves to be a national symbol.

Nice. But I hope that this "Mavrica" doesn't stay there. Because it just spoils dad... There's enough ads elsewhere. And I doubt that this has anything to do with cultural heritage..If you used it only during painting and already removed it, then super

What a huge advertising banner you dragged up - for a free 2 kg canister of Tessarol

No worries, the advertising panel was packed away right after the works were done. If only everyone was so conscientious. A shoe doesn't put itself on for free either, so let him who is without shoes judge...

Next week I plan to go to Triglav again after 20 years. From Vrata via Tominšek route, back via Prag. I plan to do the route (if suitable weather) in one day, so I'm wondering if someone can tell me at what time it starts to lighten up or dawn. I wouldn't want to walk in the forest in too much darkness, due to poor visibility! Thanks for the answer

The sun rises these days around 5:30, but it's light enough for sure already at 5:00, if not earlier... Best, good luck!

In the mountains, not just on Triglav, it's best to start with a headlamp on your head And if so, that is with a headlamp on your head, you also finish the day that way - unforgettable

Take a headlamp with you. You have to know that the day gets shorter with each day.

I also did almost the same tour yesterday. I went past Planika, the rest all the same. Probably saw your light in the morning on Konjščica, I went the upper path. At 65, the fifty-fifth time to the summit.
