A few years ago I went Tominšek route to Triglav. This year maybe via Plamenice. Tominšek didn't seem particularly demanding to me. Are Plamenice much harder? What can I actually expect compared to Tominšek? LP

They are somewhat more difficult, but I'd say that anyone who descends e.g. Hanz's on Mojstrovka shouldn't fear them at all.

Nothing special, Plemenice are a bit less protected and a shade more airy, above all this path is longer and less crowded. Offers exceptional views of the sphinx. lp

Tomorrow afternoon - after work drive from Maribor to Aljažev dom in Vrata. Tuesday morning to Triglav - via Tominškova or over Prag and back to Vrata by evening. Can previous heavy rain make walking (slippery) on Tominškova harder? Otherwise empty car and if anyone wants free ride to Vrata tomorrow (and back) show up by tomorrow morning. If weather OK, which it will be of course (weather is always just weather), back to Maribor Wednesday morning

On Friday, 27.7.2012 to Triglav via Plemenice. The awakening day promised weather you can only wish for. Wonderful, not too crowded path that offers hikers wonderful views of surrounding peaks and just the right dose of adrenaline during ascent. View of the Sphinx from this side and so close up is breathtaking, respect for those who climbed it even greater. Ascent to dad, descent to Kredarica, via Rž to Staničev dom, dinner, admiring Cmir, Begunjski vrh, Vrbanove špice, Rjavina and Triglav in sinking sun rays and well-deserved rest in a room with LCD TV. Next day return via Prag to Vrata valley. And some more than eloquent photos.

Well finally I managed to take my darling to Triglav too, so now I have a proper Slovene at home. The weather was spot on Saturday. We went from Krma to Očak, via Planika, back to Planika where we slept, yesterday slowly to the valley and to new ones.......

School trip to Triglav. Two days, first day from Konjščica to Planika, second day over Škrbina to the summit, back to Planika and to the starting point. I admit, sometimes it's nice to shift to a lower gear, take lots of breaks on the path, not rush anywhere, the only goal is just to have a good time. Everything went perfectly, from weather, to views, full moon, to the baptism of a new Slovene on top. Lots of people, maybe recommendation to book sleeping anyway (yesterday on Planika the roof was lifting from fullness). Yeah, and mushrooms are growing. People with baskets all over Pokljuka, at Konjščica (good and cheap everything from milk) they gathered with baskets. All new, small firm boletus.

Yesterday after 14 years back on Triglav. Back then I said I won't go up there again, but you know what they say about forbidden bread And no regrets! Start in Krma via Planika and Mali Triglav to the summit. Descent over Škrbina back to Planika. Since I was early I detoured at Konjski Preval to Vodnikov Dom and via Bohinjska Vratca back to Krma. Yesterday it proved that early bird catches the worm especially in mountains. While in the morning on summit we enjoyed perfect weather (hot and almost no wind) and fantastic views, later it was different as fog rolled in on top. Huge crowds though, although I admit I thought there'd be more. Path itself no issues, just some pitons a bit loose. Anyway another super day in mountains and enjoying nice weather. Only the heat did its thing and needed to drink a bit more. Hope next visit won't take so long

Even before 2am we four family members drove towards Aljažev Dom in Gorenjska. The ticket guy was surely still deep asleep, so we equipped in peace and set off without paying parking. With headlamps on heads we pushed through occasional fog, quite stuffy and windless straight up towards Luknja. Up there finally a bit cooler breeze blew. With fresh air in lungs we continued walking towards Plemenice and climbed over Triglav Notch to the top of our highest mountain, where we just caught some sun rays at the last moment. A bit later Očak was already covered in fog. Down to valley we descended via the Prag path. The path is quite long and especially physically demanding. Technically no issues for us, as fixed protections are installed everywhere needed, where no protections it's mainly easy scrambling that every mountaineer should handle. Even my daughter, who doesn't have much mountaineering experience enjoyed the path over Plemenice to Triglav a lot, the biggest problem unexpectedly for her was the descent over Prag to the valley. Nice mountaineering greetings.
