The stamp in Aljaž hut is damaged, some writing missing. You can replace it.

Hello! Girlfriend and I are heading to Triglav, somehow choosing starting point... Pokljuka or Krma? Would make a loop, via Planika to the top (either over Mali Triglav or Škrbina) and then back to Dolič, through Velska valley and back to start... I assume we'll need about 12 hours for this trail. Interested in: which route (via Škrbina or M. Triglav) is easier for descent and what's the trail from Triglav to Dolič like (also via Planika possible)? Thanks for answers... best,

Significantly easier descent path is from M. Triglav to Planika, over Noga I don't recommend. Path over Škrbina to the foot of Triglav is similarly difficult as from M. Triglav to Planika. Further down to Dolič is mulatiera. Path from Planika to Dolič also in difficulty is nothing special.

I'd say that the path from Planika to Škrbina by difficulty order is harder than the path from Planika via Mali Triglav, from that one even noticeably harder (but much longer) is the path from Dolič to the top.

Good day To Triglav we are presumably setting off next weekend if weather will be favorable, given that you have quite experiences regarding this I would ask you if you can tell me openly how demanding is the path to Triglav from Krma to Planika and via Mali Triglav to Triglav. This path should be the easiest for ascent to Triglav regarding all posts. I have no problems regarding fitness I have problems regarding height so I'm interested what you advise should I do this path or not. How much is exposed and if it is suitable for those prone to vertigo. For every advice and help I thank you in advance

Maybe I'd link my answer to what I saw this year on Triglav on the mentioned path. I didn't see anyone turn back, but people go up who haven't been anywhere before, saw some shaking scared people, heard some curses when friend told friend that the path is totally easy, but then it wasn't, saw tied scared moms that dads pull up etc... . Regarding vertigo there are several types, from uncomfortable feeling or fear to people getting dark before their eyes. So hard to advise on that. But I'd say that due to excellent securing almost everyone gets up, although some experience agony. For me the biggest danger on this path are smooth slabs and sand on slabs here and there. If mild vertigo is present, maybe good to take self-belay kit (for better confidence) or go in group where all are tied to common rope. If vertigo is severe, I advise against the visit.

Bojan A wrote correctly! @robi14: You probably know that from the top of Triglav to Triglavska (formerly Bovška) škrbina is the same (=common) path, at Triglavska škrbina then steeply down left branches the harder path "Over the leg" towards Planka, right continues (objectively easiest triglav) path towards Dolič. From Triglavska škrbina to doliška mulatiera there is still some exposure, but nothing scary ... Well, anyway, almost the same if you do the loop in direction Planika-M. Triglav-Triglav-T. škrbina-Dolič or reverse (avoid "Over the leg" variants in both cases!). More often chosen starting point for such loop is Pokljuka (Krma for approaches over Kredarica), from which from Velega polja you can continue either to Planika (as you planned yourself) or via Velska dolina to Dolič (same for descent). Connection doliška hut - Planika (or reverse) in this case (at last moment) you can include in the above described loop or not - depending on feeling and conditions. Above proposed loop (regardless direction) is objectively easier than variants that include connection Kredarica - M. Triglav (processions, worn steps, steepness, exposure).

Least abyss-prone is the path via Doliča or via Škrbine from Planika, best secured is from Planika via Mali Triglav however more abyss-prone, especially from Mali Triglav onward, where path runs along ridge. Approach via Škrbina is also very crumbly. Everyone must decide themselves what and how.

Problems with vertigo for most can be reduced to tolerable level. With training - that is with planned, gradual, but constantly repeating exposure to depth views. Gradualness must be practiced every year anew. Of course this doesn't come into question if we go to mountains only once a year (or not even) and then exactly to Triglav.

Path along ridge from M. Triglav to Triglav is practically fully secured. Wire rope (railing) is drawn at waist height, where you easily grasp it. But it is really abyss-prone as Becar already wrote.

Thank you kindly for your answers and advice. Still for one more advice I would ask you namely which mountains or which routes you would advise me given that I am only beginner namely that the route is climbing but not too exposed Already in advance thanks for answers Best

It would be very good if you get some literature (there are plenty in libraries and bookstores). The most famous guides are by Tina Mihelič, Vladimir Habjan, Andrej Mašer and many more... Read a bit, believe me they are interesting, then compare your experiences, and let the fun begin. Always follow the principle of gradualness. Slowly increase the difficulty of tours and that's it. You won't learn much like this on forums, you might even unknowingly get misleading information. Let the forum be just a supplement to your knowledge.

If you read various comments on this forum, check profiles and photos of those writing comments, you get a pretty good insight into the trail you're interested in. You have to extract some average from all sorts of comments. I've often used this portal myself and so far no major surprises on the trails. If one knows how to properly evaluate and process this info, it can be very useful, as it has been and still is for me.

Thanks for the answers Regarding experience, I don't have much, been a few times to Krn and to Mangart via Italian route (easier), otherwise nothing else in high mountains. It would help me a lot if you advise me some route that would be suitable from your experience Thanks

@pirseb24, from my predecessors you've already received a series of useful tips, but it's true that you have to come to the conclusion yourself that you're ready for it. I myself don't have much mileage on via ferratas yet, last year I first encountered such a path, namely on Bovški Gamsovec. The path is great and I recommend it to you. Really, the next ascent was to Triglav, namely from Planika. Considering that I was most afraid of the path over the ridge from Mali Triglav, it went without problem. Really, I did both paths with an experienced companion, which gives a lot of moral support, the rest you have to do yourself. Then I continued my ascents via ferrata to Konj (KSA), and via ferrata to Veliki vrh (Košuta). Despite the fact that the paths are well secured, this year I got a harness and self-belay kit, tested it on Slovenska to Ledine and over Žrelo to Češka koča. After all these paths, of course you can get there quite well without belay, but it's a good feeling if you think it's hard, to belay yourself. The next path was Hanzova to Mala Mojstrovka... many beautiful paths still await me, but slowly you get far, right ? Whichever path you take, I wish you luck and safety, above all enjoy these paths, because they are wonderful.

pirseb24: as Becar says, define your vertigo a bit better - do you collapse when looking into the abyss or just a bit more adrenaline kicks in? Triglav personally for me is not for severe vertigo sufferers - regardless of approach route. From škrbina uphill is really easier than on ridge (because you don't look directly into abyss but at the path in front), but still you have to go down and then you'll have to look into depth below you even on that path from škrbina....dunno, think well what vertigo is like. You have lots of photos on this portal and elsewhere on web, check if it's for you. personally it's painful for me to watch scared people who drag themselves by force on those cables on the way to Triglav (especially on ridge from mali Triglav onwards) and are pale and trembling the whole way and almost hold on with their teeth. OK exaggerating, but still...I don't get why they force themselves up at any cost if it doesn't suit them? In my silliness I have the idea that you go to mountains to enjoy (be it climbing path or walk) and really I see no pleasure in trembling from fear of height... otherwise for first trip check Bovški Gamsovec. That was my first trip over 2000m. There's some climbing, also sample of exposed sections, and you'll see if harder paths are for you Zadnjica-Pogačnikov dom-B. Gamsovec-Luknja-Zadnjica; really wonderful path, on top phenomenal views in all directions... maybe because it was my first "real" high mountain path, but it's still one of my favorites and I usually open summer hiking season with it well sabina agrees with Gamsovec too hehe
