Those who were up on 8.9.2013 - when were you at top to make pics without fog? We got to top around 12, but from Kredarica on thick fog, and it was foggy already morning from 9 onwards when we climbed via Tominšek above fog over Vrata?

Hello, I'm interested in the conditions for the hike to Triglav via Dolič from Zadnjica. The weather will be decent for the weekend. There's still snow on Kredarica today, so I'm unsure about the hike. Is the snow from that side very problematic? Thanks for any advice. Best regards

On Saturday it will be sunny, with more clouds in western Slovenia. Fog in the lowlands in the morning. Southwest wind during the day. On Sunday it will cloud over, with precipitation starting from the west during the day. If you call this decent...

Ascent to Triglav won't be quite easy for the next few days. Very low morning temperatures are forecast in the high mountains and thus possible additional icing with daytime melting. New snow that fell on still warm rock could have additionally turned into a layer of ice! Winter gear (ice axe, crampons) is a prerequisite in such conditions for carrying out a safe tour. Don't rely only on trekking poles on steeper tours.

This time I'll be the second scout. I went up early this morning from Krma, temperatures were below zero, so had to be very careful on the ascent - rocks were slippery, as was the frozen fixed cable. I also had some trouble locating the path itself - first because of the night (started at 2 am), second because many markers are snow-covered. So I wandered a bit on Kalvarija and also from Planika to the start of the wall, but in the end it worked out fine of course. So, to sum up viharnik's words before me - ascent is of course possible, but with utmost caution. About 10 cm of snow on the summit.

Hello! Apparently the cleaning action around Triglav was cancelled today. Please, if anyone knows something about it and if perhaps another date was chosen, let me know. Thanks! Best regards and safe in the mountains!

Nice that you enjoyed Saturday on the top of our father. And just as you were horrified by the improperly equipped mountaineers you met, I was horrified myself looking at photo no. 10. Did it seem appropriate to you to drag a dog up Triglav on the fixed cables and pegs? I think even more irresponsible, especially towards the animal. And don't explain that the dog is used to such ascents. Even in the circus animals do various "feats", but not because they enjoy it, but because their owners force them to. If the creator thought dogs should climb, he would have given them crampons like cats. Read the piece of paper with thoughts that you left in Aljaž Tower yourselves first ...... nobility and devote it to your dog too.

@Irina, I don't intend to explain anything, least of all am I the one who will forbid someone to do things that seem nonsensical to me. The dog has its owner and is not the property of the whole team that was on top yesterday.

Good thing they had sun that day, one cloud and everything would freeze in a moment. Otherwise don't call the devil with such "gear"!

To me such cases are pure positives. They are not burdened with gear and the lack of it doesn't stop them from achieving their goal, like the climb to Triglav for the lady. How did they go to mountains or on expeditions to 8000ers back then? Worse equipped than some hiker today going to Šmarna Gora in autumn.

Such gear is completely irresponsible behavior in mountains. One is her noble goal, completely different is proper preparation so we don't endanger ourselves and surroundings in mountains, consequently burdening our GRS in big cases. Even if we go to ice rink, we'll likely take skates, not summer flip-flops... For Himalayas they already had excellent Koflach plastic back then, available today in improved form .

Public posting of such photos seems inappropriate and bad for this forum, no matter how unsuitable the gear. Isn't that too big invasion of privacy of someone who just wanted to get to Triglav? If posting such things, let it be under Safety in mountains topic and without photos.

On Saturday around 12h another pup on Triglav summit! Don't know, as if dog can't slip into depth! irresponsible! As for gear at least half visitors in low sports sneakers!!! Fine for snow, I must say!
