To Triglav?

What do you say? Will there be huge crowds on Triglav tomorrow?
We're tempted to go, but crowds we don't like too much. LP

There will be crowds every weekend until winter, if only the path to the tower is dry and the weather is nice.

Well, I didn't say that getting up there in one day is a problem. We walked 7 hours to Planika, snack at Vodnik's, took about 70 pics and at Konjski preval another video because it was really windy. I'm asking because 6 hours seems a bit fast to me. winking

6-7 hours easy no problem. If you go faster of course earlier.smile

I was up yesterday, I wouldn't say that there won't be crowds tomorrow. At Kredarica from Friday to Saturday 570 people registered smile

for weather recommend check ARSO -> ALADIN(precipitation Slovenia). for 2 days ahead almost hourly very accurate data.

Guys and girls, there can't be CROWDS with us at all, that can only be in some more southern country. mežikanje

As for the path from Rudno polje to the top of Triglav, walking it in 6h isn't some great achievement, so Marko, just boldly. nasmeh

I just don't know where they'll put the other 230 people if Kredarica has cc.340 beds...

570 people can squeeze into 285 beds, so there's still quite a bit of space available nasmeh

They could arrange for double-shift sleeping?

Poor you Očak, underestimated... no, they'll already remove the cables down from M. Triglav.

In crowds you gotta take everything into account, that's how it is. Or go to less visited Martuljek Mountains and elsewhere.

Yesterday my wife and I chose a tour to Triglav via Plemenice and return via Prag back to Vrata.
We started at five twenty-five from Vrata. We reach the hole quite fast and after a short stop we head left up. Soon we meet the first cables, which run out quickly. Easier climbing follows, bringing us under the hardest part, which goes zig-zag steeply up and is equipped with a cable and pegs. Despite that, I expected more difficulty on this part based on forum descriptions and Mašera's book, which rates it 4. Some paths, especially in the Western Julians, which are rated lower in this book, seemed much harder to me. When the hardest part is behind us, we mainly have to grab the rocks as there are not many protections left.
When we find ourselves under the last steeper tower, suddenly Igor Zlodej appears before us, who took us on a nice tour last year. We continued the path together, although he quickly realized that he would have to slow his pace considerably. He took us a bit his own way off the marked paths. When my wife mentions Lojze, he is immediately ready to take us to him in Morbegno. Again we go on an unmarked path, where we have to climb a bit here and there. We chat a bit with Lojze about this and that, say goodbye to him and continue towards the top of Triglav.
There are quite a few people at the top, but no excessive crowd was visible. After a short stop, we head towards Kredarica. This path took a good hour and a half, as several family groups with fairly small children were returning ahead of us and everything proceeded really very slowly. At Kredarica, Igor and I stop for a drink and then he takes the path via Kugy ledge, while we continue via Prag back to the valley. Unlike Plemenice, the path via Prag in descent seemed harder to me than I expected.
Despite some delays on the path, we completed the tour in ten hours. The tour was very nice and thanks also to Igor for the company and for showing us some hidden corners and telling us quite a few interesting things.

I agree with what's written. It needs to be taken into account. I've already hiked quite a few hills. But I can never compare to you. Winter high mountains are not for me. I don't like crowds, I haven't been to Triglav, say and write, for a full 22 years. This year I promised my wife we'll go. Just for that. Otherwise other mountains are just as nice. Once I'll go up Plemenice too. That's still my wish. I don't need more than that. I'd rather go elsewhere. Time will run out for all of us too. I see these things that way.
Anyway, each their own way.
Safe steps to all of you.

Yeah, not so easy down via Prag (most annoying Medvedova skala and last pegs before valley). Actually had me after Tominškova. But didn't go cuz dusk approaching and also after Tominškova up over cables still fun, down on that steep part would be f*cked!

Neyo, you think nicely, otherwise I'm not some fierce mountaineer, more a scree-walker with some experience. Path via Prag seems much more comfortable to me, though a bit of climbing over Medvedova skala, at least not long on the path and more varied. Well, now we'll trample first snow in mountains.

Keko, pity we didn't meet. We two also went Saturday up via Plemenice. This path thrilled me, while descent to Kredarica in that crowd less so.
