On Saturday evening my friend and I headed to Gorenjska, precisely to Krma valley. Despite quite bad weather, we started hiking on Sunday at half past midnight. Around 2000m we hit snow, which presented no major issues. At four a.m. we arrived at Kredarica and immediately knew that we would be in fog at the top. The plan was in fact to catch the sunrise from the summit. After a slightly longer stop, the conditions finally improved and just before seven a.m. we headed for the summit. Crampons and ice axe are still mandatory gear, as there is still quite a bit of snow. The protections are mostly out, the traverses present no major difficulties. On the ridge there were wind gusts around 40 km/h, so even greater caution was needed. We both arrived excited at the top of Slovenia at eight a.m. Visibility was very good, for the first time I saw the sea from the summit. We took some photos and soon started descending, as we were aware of the late hour. The sun and relatively high temperatures were factors that made the descent quite unpleasant, as the snow was heavily south-facing. We met three foreigners who had turned back before Mali Triglav. After arriving at Kredarica we drank what one drinks after a successful ascent, chatted a bit with the weathermen and headed down to the valley. More photos at: http://matevzlavric.blogspot.com/2015/05/triglav-2864-m.html Best, Matevž

Yesterday Triglav in all its beauty just a few hours from ten thirty to thirteen in the blue of the sky. Triglav notch is still covered with snow, ice axe is mandatory. Higher there's another snowfield, otherwise dry. We descended towards Planika, where there are some snowfields lower down. Crampons not needed, but snow is wet. Only two hikers from Kredarica went to the top, but the top was already wrapped in fog.

Thanks Redbul, looked so bad in the morning all fog and wind cold, then when we started walking it cleared up nicely, and pure blue to the top.

Today also sun, some breeze - threatening clouds. Crampons not needed. But now cooling and some new snow and it'll be a different story
