Path through Plemenice is dry. Snow still in Škrbina above Triglavska planota, but can go around snowfield. Triglavska planota still under snow but no problems crossing. Fascinating day today.

Today walked path through Plemenice!
Path through Plemenice is dry, at bottom still lots of snow, Bovška škrbina flooded with snow and exit from it too.
Bypass possible on ascent otherwise recommend ice axe and crampons. Descent very dangerous!!!!

In Krma someone peeing again over foreign property, so watch what you leave in your vehicle. Gotta turn on camera for real to see who has such balls!! Good luck

What happened? Otherwise yeah it holds: ''wildlife and beasts are not man's worst enemies anymore. Man's biggest enemy is man to man''

Good luck!

Probably some homeless are breaking in again who don't care if they go to jail, or even the police doesn't like dealing with them.

This is everywhere, that's why I never leave my car in the woods or at remote parking lots anymore. I'd much rather walk an extra hour and be calm about it. They've broken into my car twice already (1x Preddvor -Potoče, second time right in the barn.)

As for that, it's better to park in the Vratamežikanje

where are those times in youth when dad taught me that at these trailhead parkings we don't even lock the car.

well, not like I'm trembling now for this clio for 500 EUR, just the feeling is stupid. the last thing I want when returning from the tour is dealing with broken window or similar.

At least sometimes mountain trailheads were kind of untouchable places. Now those good-for-nothings in human shape and junkies are almost everywhere.

Apparently the guy doing it checks all vehicles if someone has camera on, then action and seems sometimes someone has it, so break-ins only occasionally. But he doesn't realize it's no problem to mount camera on nearby tree/hide behind bush.

Hi,

interested in route conditions to Triglav from Zadnjica via Dolič. I have via ferrata gear, no crampons or winter gear. Will enough snow melt in a week for relatively safe route without crampons and ice axe?

Thanks for answersnasmeh

Yesterday we returned via Tominšek. Path dry to Podi, but very unpleasant snowfield at one spot. Snow in some gully at 70 degrees, crossing length 4m. Very unpleasant crossing, slip would be fatal.

Only one snow patch below Dolič where ice axe needed. Otherwise mulatjera dry.

ajax, thanks for the reply nasmeh

I'm curious though, since I've only been hiking in summer conditions. Will that snow melt in a week of sun? Or just wait and see how it goes?

Hi,
I was also looking for info on the condition of the path Through Plemenice and there was no other way than to check it myself this Saturday, 2.7.2016.
From Luknja onwards all the way to Plemenice you don't encounter snow that you must step on. Of course it's still in some shady narrow spots, but it's melted to such an extent that you can avoid it in the gullies with easy retreating scrambling. The cables and pegs in this section are holding, only at two-three less critical spots the pegs are pulled out or the cable is torn. Higher up, before you reach the ridge and above Sfinga the path is in exemplary condition. But shortly after that starts a more or less continuous snowfield all the way to the junction with the path from Dolič. Orientation even in fog shouldn't be a problem, as the cairns are visible and above the snow cover, and you can also pick up the marks. Plus the tracks of predecessors in the snow are well visible. The entry into the wall below Triglav notch and the traverse are not problematic. I encountered snow about 50m before the exit to the notch. With ice axe it went quick and straight, time in that section was around 09, so snow was still quite firm. Probably most go in the gully by the wall, as less stones fly there, which they send from above. Above the notch, where the path turns left, you encounter snow again. But you can bypass it on the left side and reach old marks and even pegs, which quickly join the normal path. And now you don't encounter any snow anymore, all the way to the top (except behind the summit tower, in your case before the tower) and same on descent to Kredarica. Only on the saddle before ascent to Dom na Kredarici there's some for sample. There a quite wide track in the snow leads more or less all the way to Prag. There you really don't encounter snow anymore.
Hope I was detailed and vivid enough. Anyway, seven of us "cable and rock required" gathered randomly in Luknja. Maybe someone else will write something. I don't believe anyone was climbing those parts on Sunday 3.7.2016 as it cooled down and rained all day. So these are probably the last info on the condition of that path.
Of course recommend best footwear.
For sure Igor and Redbull can provide you with the most reliable info from that area.

How about the path over Prag? Can you descend without winter gear?
