12.10.2009 Nice greeting!
Yesterday 11.10.2009 we were at the top of Triglav. Saša, Peter, Katja, Jure
Around 9:30 we started from Uskovnica. Past Vodnik hut to Planika. In front of the hut we found a hiker warming in autumn sun rays. Quickly convinced him to come with us to the top. He arrived at the summit a few minutes after us. There we chatted a bit, had a snack. Among us there were also two who were up there for the first time. Of course obligatory baptism followed. We stayed a bit longer at the summit, then dashed to the valley. Really fantastic, beautiful autumn colors, clear sky and almost no people. Met about 5 hikers.

Best, Jure

Start was from parking lot before Konjščica pasture across the pasture to Vodnik hut. There a short break for food and drink followed. Continued to Planika hut. Again short stop and plan change. We had just enough strength left to decide to go straight from Planika to the summit, although original plan was to Kredarica and summit next day. At the summit we took time to enjoy the beautiful view, as weather was really super. Then descended back to Planika via Kredarica and overnighted there. In the morning back via Vodnik hut home. It was unique.

BogdanSlo, please add the ascent date. Triglav has had winter look for some days and such pictures with description without date can mislead someone. Best, Janez.

Ascent was 1. 9. 2009. Thanks Janez, I'll remember for the future. This is my first post. Best Bogdan

Hi!
I'm interested if anyone has any data on conditions for the route to Triglav via USKOVNICA?
Maybe if someone knows how much snow towards the top and if the path is heavily iced?
Thanks for the answer and safe steps to everyone!

If it helps...checked this afternoon with meteorologists...they say to Kredarica without problems, further to Triglav icy in places and no one has gone up this week...

LP - was on Kredarica from Krma on Sunday; actually we were - our dog also enjoyed the first snow. Snow starts at 2000m - path trodden and passable without issues with normal footwear. Snow was partly dry, where sun rays hit it also wet. On Sunday about 15 of us on Kredarica; a group of Hungarians who arrived from Vrata (via Prag) previous evening tried the summit, but turned at first fixed ropes and soon back to valley. Before returning, I saw two mountaineers heading up; don't know if they made it. Weather was gorgeous; refreshments can be had at the meteorologists'... Beautiful day... Mountains..

Hi, tomorrow we'd go to Triglav via Tomiškova. Has anyone been this week? Can one go normally to Triglav?

Tominškova is now a very suitable path to Kredarica, always in shade so no heat, to Triglav of course is normal with winter gear, i.e. crampons and ice axe, helmet, and some rope for less experienced also not amiss, especially headlamp, because days now quite short, if returning same day to valley, assume via Prag.

As said yesterday, today went from Krma to Kredarica, where snow starts at 2000m a.s.l. and no problems, then further to Slovenia's summit - Triglav. Whoever plans to go up, the path is icy, so mandatory crampons, ice axe and helmet as triglavski predicted. Descended to Planika because it is safer, then past shepherd hut to Krma. Started morning at 6:00 as dawn began, finished at 17:00 at car in Krma. Pictures show what wonderful day up there today....

Hello everyone! nasmeh (my first post or question on the forum).
Given the nice weather forecast for Saturday, I'd like to go to Triglav where I haven't been yet, specifically via Tominšek route. Mainly interested in conditions on the route, if anyone hiked this week, and if the tour can be done in one day (for example of my fitness or unfitness, ascent to Jalovec from Koritnica past Špiček took me 5 hours at moderate pace and returned same day). Thanks for answer

Best regards and safe steps

"Bošte", read a bit previous or recent posts and you'll get answer to your question. The mentioned route can definitely be done in one day with some more fitness, but don't forget headlamp and mandatory winter gear as recommended on previous and current page. Safe and LP Andrej

What about the path to Kredarica from Krma?

Are crampons mandatory?

On 28.10.2009 I went from Krma to Kredarica. The path is nice and passable without crampons, on the sunny side almost no snow, only in the shade a little snow on the path that crunches nicely under the feet, no ice anywhere, only from Kredarica to Triglav crampons and ice axe are mandatory.
