Hope for a favorable resolution always exists. Hope dies last. For some, 1000 Euros is quite concrete money, for others obviously pocket change. Gaping on the ridge is part of Slovenian folklore anyway!

I completely agree with what's written. I thought the same myself. That they didn't have helmets, I didn't even notice, because to me it's obvious that you must have one. Usually we have a softshell hood over the helmet, so you don't see it...
I told them there's little chance they'll find it, because snow dust surely covered it, or it broke. That it stayed on some ledge is really low probability, because once it picks up speed, it just flies...
You're right, you don't see that every day...

But stubborn as hell. One minute on the summit. He didn't let me take even one photo. He was angry that this year the path to Kredarica is steeper. Maybe true, because more snow. But he was very cautious. Also in the last part of descent to Kredarica he commented that the steps are too far apart for those of us who are smaller. Anyway, hats off to him for his age and after the illness he's overcome, that he's back again.

Borut Slapernik brawler PE professor from Piran, alpinist, mountain rescuer, touring skier, handball player, swimmer etc. First time I climbed Triglav with him and Nitko late June 1969 and that in quite demanding conditions, later many more times, most often winter, even New Year's Eve. Now I avoid Triglav from afar, both summer and winter precisely because of various individuals and makeup girls
who make crowds up there, some are exceptions. When I visited him 2002 after return from Himalayas seriously ill at oncology in Ljubljana I thought it was last time seeing him. Dear Borut wish your legs hold long and you climb top again sometime. Correct he didn't let himself be photographed, I wouldn't either. Lp!

Yesterday my colleague and I had Triglav just for ourselves, really can't remember last time like that.
@darinka4 nice we met again yesterday, who knows where next

P.S.: "brawler" grumbled to us too about route, not properly laid, places too under rock etc. Probably something to it, experience on his side.

Given that the south wall under Mali Triglav was icy (probably not much changed since Saturday) two ice axes are a smart choice. Anyway large part of the route is quite steep, where in case of a slip stopping with an ice axe is not possible.

Sneg thanks. I agree, Matej, two ice axes are a good choice especially at the last crossings on descent to Kredarica. Snow is quite hard and icy. You feel the ice axe doesn't hold best even nearby. Had to thrust it properly into snow to hold. And rikvers is needed there, which is even more demanding.

Today up there and such good conditions, hard to be better. Practically steps to summit, crossing half meter wide, just a bit too windy...

Lukito, I'd kindly ask for your original uncropped picture #14 on zs or by mail. Obviously we saw each other climbing the wall. Probably on the summit too. Really phenomenal conditions for hiking that day, for climbing almost not extreme enough.
