This is how I went: Y Vrtača, Palec, Zelenjak, Y Begunjščica and back via Š.plaz. I started early in the dark, at the hut it was already light enough to turn off the light and continue towards Y Vrtača. Nowhere did I posthole, when I arrive below Vrtača I gear up (2 ice axes), quickly do a snow profile and it looks stable, I breathe a sigh of relief and go into Y Vrtača. Conditions are like this, it has slid, snow is dry, crust 0.5cm, on the slid part harder, icy, when the sun warms the higher rocks surrounded by snow, falling snow crystals too. At the top of Vrtača no wind, clear weather, descent and below I meet the first visitors. I go to Palec too, as part of the annual, then direct up. I return and see two going to Zelenjak, southern snow, on the ridge still OK, I go without backpack, up and down, then retreat from this heat. I return back, but it has already started postholing on the steepest part, lower in the forest OK, hard, I go to Y Begunjščica from the gully I see they went from Vrtača via J.gully, ridge. At the top nice here too, descend via Š.plaz. Icy, lots of visitors, nice day spent above Zelenica.
