Where to go with a dog?

velik nasmeh Neither with the pitbull bitch nor now with the bandog do I have problems in the mountains...
But I join the peers who know what dog psychology is (same as with us humans).

Wow, those are real Pehta and Bedanec among the puppies. velik nasmeh Cute. I'd say no problems when meeting, surely no one kicks them off the path if they don't move aside right away. jezik

Spray probably works...

Now let him just say they walk unleashed...

And I don't see the sense in someone getting such monsters instead of a normal dog. Could say something about the psychological profile of such people but it'll be fire in the roof again.

Some dogs are normal, others not,... God forbid you go to mountains with it cause you torture it... Oh dear, really. And it was just a question where it's appropriate to go with a dog so it's fine for everyone. zmeden

Yeah, as much tolerance as some dog owners have for other people. mežikanje

Otherwise I stand firm that breeds like various bulls, mastiffs, molossers and similar should be banned like they already are in many countries.

And somehow I'm tired of hearing fairy tales from various dog forums how pitbulls are the friendliest and gentlest breed, all reports of their attacks almost a journalistic conspiracy!

Some already judge dogs' behavior from pictures.
TejaB-you're right-no one has kicked them off the path yet, because they know how to behave in a socialized manner.
They don't push where they shouldn't! Neither into other dogs nor people! When you teach a dog that it's OKvelik nasmeh

janny1980: I didn't say anything about specific dogs. You know they are calm, but those who meet your dogs don't!

But a little is needed, right, so that these people fear something?

Well, I don't say anything about the specific owner, but many of those who stroll around with such dogs are treating their complexes from everyday life with this. They need something so that people admire them or show them respect or are afraid of them, if they are zeros in everyday life.

Some for example drive recklessly with cars, some with motorcycles, some terrorize their partners and children (weaker than themselves of course), some walk with such beasts and enjoy how everyone trembles a little in front of them when it looks at them meanly or even barks (yes I had a neighbor case, who went every day with a huge Šarplaninac, who barked at everyone along the way on the walk - she just smiled contentedly at everyone).

Some of the most insecure can't even stick their head out of the apartment without them, because they see only monsters around them that will do something to them. For such, that evil dog is actually a ticket to the outside world. Some kind of wheelchair.

Probably people act like they are strong and cool because they have a big dog. And to have respect from people because they should fear the dog.
And you add that you know dog psychology; I don't know what to say, just that such condemn those who kill animals, but glorify man-eaters. I write this because I know such people, and in these cases they are more or less around 80%.
And just come past me with such a beast in the mountains, if I don't have a good day, then the hour will strike differently, it wouldn't be the first time. velik nasmehcool

The problem is somewhere else! (some people) People simply don't like dogs!
My dog is trained and socialized and has B-BH exam, but I always have problems with individuals, because he's just big, black, ... real beauty, but tame and obedient! I wouldn't dare go to the mountains with a feral dog.

You never know what can come into his head. Maybe I'm speaking from my own, bad, memories when such a "tame" dog attacked me, just because, maybe, I had a stick in my hand (don't know, I'm not a dog psychologist), and he grabbed my sleeve. Since then I stay prepared. Then the owner whined why I killed him, that he was tame and so; I had a holey jacket. It looked like I was guilty because I should have gone around when I saw the dog, unbelievable.. That's why I have a special category of people who are dog owners and there are few of them in this conclusion.

@aleš43: Does it write on your dog's head that he has all those exams and is trained and what not? And if you have him unleashed, that he strolls freely, of course people are afraid of him.

These debates, usually always the same dog haters, go completely over the line. In the mountains there are practically none, but one gets the feeling that some see fears everywhere. In my opinion they even jump into bushes in front of chamois. Come on, come on. Will you chase and kick them away also when they are searching for you or rescuing you? The dog already knows who to attack, if at all. And rarely. And then it's almost 100% right. jezen
go to the mountains and have fun, and leave the dogs alone. What will it be like when it's raining outside and autumn boredom grabs you?eek

The lesson of this burned house is from me something like this-How can you someone whom you don't know, you've never seen him, he was never in your way on a steep ledge, you had to dodge dogs...
You know, having such a breed means-certain responsibility, which I realized 18 years ago when I first bought a pitbull female. Some things before, some after bad experiences later. Just for info-mongrels are much more aggressive and bite for the slightest thing. I'm curious, how would you react if a 6m giant with a stick flies at you? Yeah you too would bite, bark... from fear velik nasmeh nasmeh

@janny1980: I have so many negative experiences with dogs and if it was so easy to just get out of their way as you say, everything would be fine. Unfortunately it's not that simple...

On a completely exposed ledge no, a bit aside from the abyss yes. And I was merciful enough to direct the pepper spray at the dog barking and growling at me past its snout (because many get scared just from the hiss) and risked only making it angrier and it jumping at me and dragging me down. Well, it just barked off to the owner. If I had aimed directly at the snout it would have been temporarily blinded and in panic could easily have tumbled into the abyss. As a reward I got yelled at by the owner!

The vast majority are really unproblematic and most are a joy to watch especially when you see how their owners are responsible and right then you see it's really just a handful of total jerks who first torture the dog with their behavior, second terrorize people and third give all owners and dogs a bad name.

As for responsibility. I believe you are responsible and aware of it. But the problem is that even psychos can get such a dog here. No restrictions. It's like guns in America. Anyone can get it in a store. Then they have various massacres and shootings, family tragedies,... because the weapon gets into wrong hands. Here we have Baričevičs and others about whom they only publish a little news in the chronicle.

Legislation should be restricted so that the owner must have at least basic training and also the dog, for tougher breeds introduce a firearms license like for guns or best ban them altogether.

Hey people, do you even remember what question was asked at the beginning? I suggest that whoever is unable to give a useful answer, or isn't even a dog owner, stop polluting here with their phobias. Dogs actually smell such psychos (without permit) very quickly ..and bite!

Otherwise, with the pup you can for example hike almost all Karavanke, eastern Triglav foothills etc. Karavanke are great because there's lots of water.

oh, Van Sims
You really know nothing about dogs!
by the way, mine is always leashed so as not to disturb wildlife and grazing animals, I admit I unleash him when no one's around, otherwise he doesn't stray far from me at all.

And on the pictures there are some ideas where to go with the dog.
