Freiwandkopf is 2854 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located in country Austria 6 km northwest from the center of Winkl and 8 km northwest from the center of Heiligenblut. The nearest mountain hut is Glocknerhaus, located 1.7km southeast. A little further is Information Bricciuskapelle. 1.6 km south-southwest of the peak there is lake Sandersee. 1.7 km north-northwest from the summit there is glacier Freiwandkees, 3 km west from the summit there is also glacier Pasterze. The peak is located south of the valley Käfertal.
