Description:
Freiwandscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2949 meters located in the High Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located 1.3 km south-southwest of peak Sinwelleck. The nearest mountain hut is Karl-Volkert-Haus, located 3km southeast. A little further is bivouac Glocknerbiwak. 2 km south of the saddle there is lake Sandersee. 0.7 km north from the saddle there is glacier Freiwandkees, 2 km west from the saddle there is also glacier Pasterze. North-northeast of the saddle is the valley Käfertal.
