When I look at the answers to this poll question, I'm a bit worried about the knowledge of our environment and TNP borders. 45% think the lowest point of TNP is at the confluence of Soča and Vipava - that's in Italy. Despite wishes of some, our TNP probably won't ever reach that far south... According to my knowledge, the lowest point is in Tolmin Gorges... I might be wrong... But I would never place it at the confluence of Soča and Vipava... and where do you think it is?

@pantani1, I'm not an "expert", but I dare say that your post is "tendentious" and only half true and therefore misleading. My daughter, who is still a student, got vaccinated with Astra Zeneca because of doing numerous practices and exercises in hospitals, health centers and nursing homes. A few days after the first dose, before practice she still had to test, the (rapid) test was positive and when she said she was vaccinated, they told her that in such a case the rapid test is often positive. The explanation was that after vaccination the body starts producing antibodies, which the less reliable rapid test detects as infection. Subsequently the PCR test was of course negative and it wasn't any infection after vaccination. I'm almost sure it was the same in the case of the "gentleman" you're writing about.

Unfortunately it's like that irresponsible individuals go somewhere they can't reach even in summer, let alone winter or in between. But they always think someone will rescue them if the slope is steeper than they can handle. They forget that with their irresponsible actions and behavior they endanger the lives of rescuers who came to help them. I would bill each one for their rescue!!! It's not GRS that should or could judge the legitimacy of the bill. The fact is that the rescue was performed. If the mountaineer is insured, the insurance will cover the rescue and their mutual relationship is how they will settle it without involving GRS. If the person is not insured, then let them bear the cost of the rescue themselves. Simple, isn't it!

Slemenova Spica is an easily accessible viewpoint from Vršič, which at this time offers wonderful autumn colors and contrasts. There were really a lot of people but it's nice to see families with playful children running on the grass and enjoying. There wasn't much shouting or it got lost. If that bothered someone, they could approach from Mala Pišnica or from Tamar.... Slemenova Spica is of course paradise also for those who go to the mountains maybe only once or twice a year and that's right.

Wrong, @margu50. It's not that @velesa and @ločanka are claiming something that's not just theirs. "Screamers" in the hills are taking - you're taking the right to "ruin" and "desecrate" something that exists up there – mountain peace, nature's tranquility…. And that's up there for everyone, for people and animals, especially the latter… I fully believe @velesa what she wrote, because I've experienced similar in the mountains many times myself, and yes… even on Clean Peak already. On the contrary, I've often found myself in some "crowd" on more crowded peaks, but I was obviously lucky that it was a "crowd" of "real" mountain lovers. If I hadn't seen them around me, I really couldn't believe they were there… even though they were in pairs and groups… You know, shouting and cackling and yelling in the hills has nothing to do with joy. Truly joyful people don't shout, but are rather quiet to hear how their heart plays and soul sings with joy. But it has a lot to do with culture. Or when you go to some bar or inn, do you shout so all guests have to listen only to you? And one more thing you're wrong about. I personally know @velesa, and follow @ločanka via this portal. And I tell you, they also hike in company, you won't believe it, even with a mountaineering club! So they're far from loners and don't hike only alone in the hills... But obviously they have luck that their fellow hikers are the right lovers of mountain beauties and mountain peace with whom it's a joy to hike and a joy to meet!

Interesting, recently I was in Austria.... Sleeping 13 euros in a 4-bed room (bedding included, not charged separately!!), of course heated rooms, half price for youth... Beer a bit less than 4 euros... food somewhat more expensive than at home ca. 20 to 30% but portions much larger than at home. No smell from toilets and they have hot water... Tap water is drinkable!!! Staff friendly and helpful... hut altitude approximately like our Kredarica... Everyone should make their own picture and comparison between abroad and our robber PZS.

As Igor wrote.. drive into the valley and when you reach the sign prohibiting further driving ahead there is a fairly large parking lot... then a bit back on the road 3 to 4 minutes... the road is currently icy but without issues and without speeding it goes normally...

@amarilis, but to Šmarna gora you didn't walk through forest and under broken trees? Interesting, I was up there several times after ice storm, and the devastation is really huge and if you stop a bit and look up into crowns, there are "stuck" still huge branches, which by no means would be innocent if they fall on your head... Regarding your tips and opinions what is better and what not, remember Prešeren.... "Let my nightingale sing as I created his throat"

Peter2 - I think the problem isn't those 10 euros, at least for most. I think the bigger problem is when you drive to the lower parking where they charge parking for this road, park in the sun and pay 1.50 euros per hour (that's more than in Ljubljana in some parking garages!). Even more stupid is that parking for the whole day is 12 euros!? Which means they force you not to walk. If it was for the gravel parking without shade say 5 euros for the whole day it would be plenty! And the parking meter there doesn't give change...

Bivouacs are intended for all hikers and it's right that we know where they are, so that one can use them in distress. I'm not a fan of "Czech occupations" of bivouacs for a whole month and similar, but order in bivouacs and rules need to be followed! So everyone who goes to the mountains should know about bivouacs, since they are not for the elite but for all mountaineers in need. I'm really disappointed that such things are even discussed on the forum and that well-known hikers debate how to keep the bivouac only for the elite... disaster

@irina I agree with you. @Hribovc88… I'm ashamed when I read this, I'm surprised you're not... looking for ways to avoid paying the 6 Eur entry fee.... Personally I haven't been on this hike yet, but I went to look at the Levstik Trail 2012 website and read the following: every participant gets for these 6 euros: - New book of Levstik Trail (this year's red thread of the book is "cycling and cycling paths in the Levstik Trail area – over 50 pages) - Logbook for commemorative stamps - Trail map - ...and as I gathered also a t-shirt by mail. The trail has two routes – southern (21.5 km) and northern (22 km). That means preparing about 44 km of trail for the first time, checking them, cleaning if necessary, marking, providing stewards, complete organization, not to mention printing the book, map etc.... in short, I really don't understand how someone can expect nowadays that all this will be voluntary, for free, we should even pay everyone who comes and give them a free beer or something??? The only thing the organizers could think of would be perhaps some discount for families.... if say a five-member family comes on the hike (I believe there aren't many, or none), really 30 Eur is no longer cheap.... for individual hikers though... be glad, those of you for whom participating in such hikes suits, that someone is still willing to organize such things (I believe most are volunteers). Good luck!

julius, you don't need an explanation because you won't get it since not all words are in SSK. No hard feelings!
