Road is passable without major issues. At two spots, you need to reduce speed because the water has done its thing...

Does anyone maybe know if there are still winter conditions from Dom na Zelenici to Veliki vrh via Vajnež?

Maybe someone knows what the conditions are on the path Ljubelj - Dom na Zelenici - Begunjščica summit? On the path under Begunjščica walls, do you need to cross any snow patches or is the path dry?

@katja87 under Vrtača topic check picture from @kgregor has Begunšco on 11th picture. If you roughly know where path goes it might help.

....Begunjščica via Roblek.... No snow anymore, but the path is slippery. Below the summit sheep are already grazing...

Yesterday on Begunjščica... start in the morning at Ljubelj, up via Zelenica... from Dom na Zelenici a couple of snow patches, no problem... also a couple of fallen trees, so a bit of crawling .. great views along the path and on the summit... return via Planina Preval-a

On Saturday, 7.6.2014, we did a circular tour on Begunjščica: Ljubelj - Dom na Zelenici - Begunjščica - Roblekov dom na Begunjščici - Planina Preval-a (via Roža) - Bornova pot and tunnels - Ljubelj. The entire path is dry, except for crossing one snow patch right after Dom na Zelenici, which is not problematic and normally passable. We had a great day and beautiful views. On the summit there were quite a few hikers and most of them, like us, enjoyed it up there for a whole hour Pictures from the tour can be seen on the website of Planinsko društvo Matica Murska Sobota: http://www.mojalbum.com/pdmaticams/20140607-begunjscica-krozna-pot/pot-pod-zicnico/21759749

Katja87 very nice trail. I'm interested how many hours such a tour takes, and do you recommend overnight stay in some hut and which one? Going with kids. Thanks

Pure walking is about 6-7 hours. If you add another 3 hours for breaks, the tour takes 10 hours. If starting in the afternoon (after 17h) from Ljubelj when the heat eases a bit, overnight at Zelenica is possible. The Ljubelj-Zelenica ascent is best done early in the morning or late afternoon, in between it is hooooooooot! Good luck

While the route from Ljubelj is not problematic and paths passable without issues, some caution needed only from Zelenica to Begunjščica via SPP due to spring crumbling rocks.

1. 7. First to Dobrč, then also to Begunjščica, where a huge number of sheep are grazing these days, followed by descent to Roblek.

Today from Ljubelj to Zelenica, from there to Begunjščica (Veliki vrh), from there descent to Roblekov dom and via Roža to Prevala, from there via Bornova pot back to Ljubelj. Sun accompanied us from the start, at the top (as usual) mists, so poor views around. Very few people - it's Monday. Total exactly 6 hours of moderate (not too slow) walking - no stops at huts or summit.

Today to Begunjščica from Draga, via Prevala and Kalvarija to the summit. Return via Roblek... Morning really nice weather, path o.k., only first part towards Prevala fog slightly covered the path and you need to be a bit more careful, especially if still dark..
