What is better, up via Prevala and Kalvarija and back from Roblek via Zelenica or vice versa?

Enka, we did the tour Ljubelj - Zelenica - summit of Begunjščica - Roblekov dom - return via Roža to Prevala - Bornova pot - Ljubelj about a month ago.

Definitely recommend going up via Zelenica, as you hike the northern slopes of Begunjščica, which means less sun and cooler, and return via the southern slopes to Prevala, thus making a nice loop tour.

I also like this direction better. We too chose this direction about a month ago, despite some other advice, and the decision proved very right when it poured on return.

Ljubelj, Bornov tunnel, Prevala, Kalvarija, Begunjska Vrtača, Veliki vrh. From the summit down to the hut at Zelenica. In the hut I asked for the path to the new ferrata entrance and went to check how it looks. Alone, without helmet and without via ferrata set of course I didn't go up. Looks nice. There are two routes of different difficulties. Also a new trail to the entrance, but you have to ask at the hut at the beginning. Only before Zelenica I met 3 hikers. Nice path, a little wind on the ridge and right temperature for hiking.

janez.novak - official opening of the via ferrata is 19.09.2015. Via ferrata runs on Spodnji Plot, difficulty data on PD Tržič page.

Morning from Ljubelj, through the Born tunnel, Preval saddle, Roža, Roblek hut, Veliki vrh, Zelenica, Ljubelj.
Weather mostly sunny with short periods of fog, moderate wind. Path mostly dry with rare "tongues" of frozen snow. Most caution needed on the path from the junction Roblek/Zelenica/Veliki vrh to Zelenica. Microspikes used only on descent from Zelenica to Ljubelj. Met about 20–30 hikers.
In summary: one nice low-adrenaline, soul-soothingnasmeh and heart-gladdeningvelik nasmeh tournasmehnasmeh

Today I went to check the conditions in the Central gully:

Cornices are forming, otherwise the gully is really well filled. In the lower part the wind has already processed the snow and packed it together, towards the top it is lighter. Next days we should be careful, the wind is doing its thing.

I broke trail right to the start of the gully, then bootpacked. Just below the summit I veered too far right, so I skied down from there also due to really dense fog.
I recorded the descent, but the lens fogged up completely from the inside, so I won't post the video.

Car to car 3.5h with tea in the hut.

No, I was up there again today... but in perfect conditions and sunny weather nasmeh

Most went to the top via Šentanski plaz, I went directly to check the skiing conditions... finally I skied the gully the way I've long wanted, although the first three turns were far from nice.

What skis do you have? Width? Can't find on Elan site.
