On Sunday a social black sheep disturbed us at Begunjščica summit, so we moved from the stamp pole to the bench with phone for photos and forgot our SPP booklets. On Monday they called us from Roblek that two hikers brought our booklets there. THANKS kind and careful finders! They returned our motivation to continue collecting SPP stamps. nasmeh

Today on Begunjščica. Up through tunnel, across Prevala. Down to Zelenica. Nice weather, some hikers too, and sheep not missing. Path without features.

Saturday trip choice: Begunjščica. Haven't hiked the Bornova path yet, so this choice. Short stop at Prevala, then via Kalvarija to the top of Begunjščica. Knee gnashing is really a calvary and endurance test to the top. Around 1 pm weather starts brewing. Descent along the ridge to Roblekov dom, watching the rain curtain from Poljska planina to Dobrča to Storžič. Curtain "travels", behind Stol brewing again. Decision: quick over Roža to Prevala. Half an hour later raincoats on, shower lasts 10 min, drops like "peas". After the shower, psychedelic descent.... all wet, stones slippery, wet grass, mud everywhere, sliding..... every step planned, in the last forest part before Prevala relief. Deserved break at Prevala and shot of "Košutnik" for caution. Then down the Bornova path to Ljubelj parking. Taste buds pampered at Karavla Koren inn, they really know how. Praise. nasmeh

Up there it will be tough .... later it turns out this is real calvary in terms of knee grinding

At first it looks nice.... later however.....

At the top......the time wasn't even that bad....we were all positively surprised, much less than on the signs.

Prevala appears and smiles on both faces.

Today to Begunjščica from Draga through Luknja to Preval planina and via Kalvarija to the top, descent past Roblek and via Poljska planina to Draga. Path OK, quite soggy from prolonged rain. At Draga parking met local RP who maintains Luknja path. Told me some interesting facts about it, new to me: until 1961 Luknja path was normally passable for livestock driven to Preval pasture. Then avalanches and water from Begunjščica washed everything away.

Today circular tour Ljubelj - Prevala - Begunjščica over Kalvarija - Zelenica - Ljubelj. Path normally passable, lots of wet leaves, higher slippery rocks requiring some caution. Descent to Zelenica slippery too. All the time between sun and clouds... On the summit glory!

Today I went from Ljubelj via Prevala to Begunjščica. The trail is slippery. Below the low cloud line it was cloudy, above the upper line clear. How it was in between, you can see on the pictures below.

The stone with a painted heart, which was for many years at the start of the path, is now lower down in the forest.

but didn't think someone could drag it into the forest. Could it be put back to the old place?

Yesterday on Begunjščica via Šentanski plaz. There is still too little snow in the lower part for a pleasant ascent (and descent too), in the middle part of the gully the snow cover is quite OK, at the exit and towards the top it is frozen in places. The wind blew "exemplarily", so I didn't stay long at the top. Up without gear, down I used it. The promised "mostly clear weather in high mountains" wasn't abundant either. On the return, fog from Ljubelj rose almost to Zelenica.

I was up there on 26.12. There is still some snow at the top, I recommend crampons, mainly from the upper half of the forest onwards (if you go via Preval). You can still go up somehow without, but down it can be a lottery velik nasmeh

The path to Roblek is excellent, I recommend crampons. To the summit there is about 50 cm from the start and already 80 cm at the end of snow, so you have to push your ass through. About 200 m below the summit we turned back with my buddy because of bad weather and it made no sense. nasmeh

Started hiking only after 3 pm, up the Central gully and back the ascent route. It has slipped, it seems it rained even on Begunjščica summit recently. I watched for ice, slippery. Gully flooded.
