I'll come to Ratitovec. This year it's even the national championship in uphill running. Very tough race, no doubt.
On this trail we've been thinking for a while to go together and try to run under one hour. Current record (unfortunately) 1 hour 1 minute.
Anyway, congrats for the nice tour on Begunjščica.

Today I was on Begunjščica. But I didn't run, because I wasn't allowed to, I have to rest before upcoming races. So I looked for fossils and unfortunately found quite a few for my knees. Will have to go again for more load. Of course there's so much there it's impossible to carry all down.
Weather was ideal and warm.

Today did the same tour as GregorC. I was at the summit before the fog, which was already enveloping the peaks nicely when I was at Poljska planina.
Otherwise nice trip. Kalvarija is really a calvary, and in the last half hour along that ridge need to watch out a bit, especially if wet.

Today did a circular tour. Start at Ljubelj towards Preval planina and on via Kalvarija to Begunjščica summit. Weather quite ok, some clear skies, sun and clouds. Summit not in fog unlike neighboring peaks which were partly or fully fogged. Some snow on path, but approach to summit no problem, except slippery path mainly due to mud. Towards summit moderate wind, so quite wintry. Views still nice. Return towards Zelenica, path not trodden. Seems no one went since snowing. Quite a bit of snow, logical north side. At places almost knee-deep. Gaiters almost mandatory. Need to be careful though, snow very light and breaks to rocks. Next snowfall this path will be hard to pass, also avalanche risk. From Zelenica hut just descent back to Ljubelj. Hut seems they are slowly finishing inside too. More photos at: CLICK

Bojan, glad you recovered quickly from illness and fled to heights. But "you're quick at that right" - you just can't descend without accident, either ankle twist or busted lip. At PD Radovljica they need to nominate you for marker!

I've mentioned before how I hate descents (be it trail running, mountaineering, bike downhill). Ok, today I only got a scratch.

Haha good one!  Would try tandem sometime.
Otherwise I've followed such markings for kilometers myself. Of course someone hit just finger and spot in snow shows right away.

Bojan, it's good you didn't mention ski touring among the activities you hate on descent.
Maybe that would be for you so you won't suffer so much on descent.
After all, chess still remains for you.

So yesterday I went to Begunjščica up and down Šentanski couloir. Conditions excellent, snow packed, hard frozen. On top quite a few people.

Today up the central ridge and down Šentanc. At 9 there were six of us up top. Conditions excellent as marko1 already wrote and they probably won't change until first snowfall or stronger inversion.
