My camera bag fell from my hands and luckily it was empty... The one who had bad luck was someone else at the other end of Begunjščica.

Yesterday around 1 pm I also barely escaped an avalanche on Šentanc, because suddenly it rumbled. Adrenaline filled to the max.

Yesterday from Završnica via Poljska pl. and Roblek to the summit. The lower part of the path to Poljska pl. is nicely snow-covered, further to Roblek it is widely trodden and quite a few people. From Roblek onwards no one. On the way to the summit the snow is mostly wind-blown and frozen. There is not much snow, the path is quite visible. Full gear is necessary for the ascent to the summit. On the summit quite a few people who came from both sides - from Preval or the north side.

What beautiful sunrise shots I'm wondering what time one has to get up to be greeted by such scenes at the top? Looking at your older shots too, I see they've completely enchanted you and you're willing to get up for them even in the middle of the night Commendable, really, but pity that us sleepyheads miss all this....in summer somehow so it's not hot later....but in winter

It was only -9, and a bit windy .
You need to dress properly, but when the sun shines, it gets hot quickly (warm)
Getting up is no problem if you don't sleep at all, then afternoon shift. Today I met several such.
To experience it, you need some calculation. How much driving, how long you think the hike will take, always at least 30 min before sunrise on top, maybe more.
Weekend again...

Begunjščica enchants me again and again, especially in winter. Today too. Among its diverse gullies I chose Central Gully for ascent to the top, where it narrows I turned right and topped out. Descended Šentanski Gully. Conditions: Ascent on hard frozen snow, before middle of Central Gully slush partially breaks through but no big issues. Descent "Šentanc" also no major problems: top frozen snow, middle breakthrough slush on powder, bottom frozen, partly icy.
When I thought I was the only today's sleepyhead, two friendly ski tourers with friendly dog joined me, no bad conscience. Thanks for nice chat and company.
Despite ideal conditions, no need to discuss winter gear for such tour.

Obviously not only I crawled up the central gully to Begunjščica! Almost missed the summit in such fog .
Descent to Prevala and Dobrča.

A week ago optimal, now? Don't know... think if early might be good, later gets slushy... S exposure, no sun at all!
