As far as I know there is no connection between the lower and upper road, or am I wrong. I looked at TNP map. About a year ago I went up the lower road quite far, then parked at signs for Crna Prst and somehow reached Planina Poljano, not Crna Prst. In between I reached Planina Suho and then Rodica and Crna Prst. At the end of the tour, descending from Planina Za Liscem I reached the upper road and couldn't find a passage to the lower one to get to the car. Now I exactly know how the paths go. I have also gone from Soriska on the upper path as Peter S. describes.

The lower road, which comes from B. B. to village Ravne and continues towards Suha, nowhere joins the upper road that comes from Soriska Planina direction.

Thanks everyone for the answer. Then it's exactly as I anticipated, or rather as julika and peter2 wrote.
Now I just need to find that turnoff which apparently in the opposite direction - so from SP to BB harder to see than from BB to SP.
Also those 2km on forest path we'll manage. nasmeh

Every year we kept planning the ascent to Crna Prst via the botanical path that starts at Orožnova Hut on Planina Za Liscem. And that in this summer time when you can see the most flowers. This year we finally went. On the "post-holiday" day, Friday, June 26. We returned via Planina Za Črno Gora.

Our impressions: enthusiastic, very, very! Really wonderful experience especially for flower lovers! On the botanical path we repeated some names because they slipped from memory, learned some new ones, then could repeat them mežikanje to the top, because flowers don't run out. Right below the hut silver gentian is in full bloom, which apparently is only found on Crna Prst, in Krn Mountains and on Stol above Breginj.

Sincere thanks to all who maintain the botanical path. May it remain beautiful and maintained for long! We'll surely come again! nasmeh

Today shorter tour to our house mountain.
We started at Pl. Osredki, then on hunting trails into valley Žalostnica, from there to Konjski Vrh, where we joined the main trail Crna Prst - Vogel.
Along the ridge to Crna Prst, down via ski touring variant towards Orožnova Hut.
Alpine sow thistle already blooming nasmeh

This is how it was on Crna Prst on Sunday 15.11.2015.
From the valley it smelled of strudel, so visiting Orožnova hut was obligatory nasmeh. Well, we have another hut that will be open all winter.
At the end a couple of pics from Lisca, which I visited three weeks ago.

I'm wondering if anyone was on Crna Prst in the past days? I plan to go up Sunday (circular route, start at Dom dr. Janeza Mencingerja, up via planina za Črno goro, back past Orožnova hut) curious about conditions? Thanks, regards Peter

We were there on Saturday. To both planinas ok, then less so. Went from Vrh Bače, down to Orožnova hut. Used microspikes, without them I wouldn't go. On Sunday up via Orožnova hut, no need for winter gear and with such temps ahead same. Only trickier spot (traverse before saddle exit) mostly gone, bit scary. Descended via Vrh Bače saddle to Podbrdo, there tougher traverse ~50m soon after path fork; no joke there.

At least once a year visit Crna Prst. If nothing else for botanical path and beautiful ridge to Rodica. This time upper path under planina za Liscem. Then Crna Prst. Now on botanical path mostly all bloomed out. But wonderful Host's pink blooming. Zois bellflower end of path in rock crack not blooming yet, edelweiss only leaves. Don't know if flowers this year. Not sure on edelweiss. Said plant dies after bloom-dunno. Friendly keepers at Crna Prst serve nicely. If nice weather/time walk to Matajur foot, did yesterday. Huge gentian patch there. Ridge yesterday not hot, light wind.

Upper road unfortunately still closed due to logging. Today up to Mali vrh, Kobla and over planina za Črno goro.
Rush in hills calming, no crowd at top.

Peter2, does that mean can't drive over Bohinjsko sedlo to where ~40 min to Orožnova hut?
So to CP via Sedlo Bača? (fastest way) or till where drive?

Yes, road under Orožnova hut closed. Best start for Crna Prst Bohinj side now Ravne (former Mencinger hut).

Hello!

On Sunday my girlfriend and I plan to head to Crna Prst from Podbrdo and before deciding for this ascent, we're interested if conditions are still completely dry or if there's already some snow somewhere on the path or summit, because I wouldn't like to hike in snowy conditions? And also if conditions are nice and dry, where in Podbrdo is easiest and best to park the car? Thanks in advance for all info and answers.

You can park in the center of Podbrdo or by the railway station where there's as much space as you want. It's true, very bad weather is forecast for Sunday.

Park in Podbrdo at the railway station, then descend from Črna prst to Bohinjska Bistrica and take the train back to the start. I did it last year and this year.
Otherwise you can also park at Petrov Brdo by the local mountain hut.
