Črna prst

Interested if anyone walked from Orožnova hut to Crna Prst and if it's trampled. I know there's lots of snow. L.P.

On Crna Prst we were on Sunday, on the summer path past the former Mencingar hut. Right at the first steep section from the road there is some broken trees and branches over the path, but walkable without major issues. Path to Orožnova hut is trampled and doesn't sink at current morning temperatures.
Further, over Moda to the top no problems, again hard frozen snow. To the last gully on skis, for the summit climb swapped skis and poles for crampons and ice axe.
On Saturday we plan to repeat the tour.

From Kal village the path is passable. Only here and there fallen trees over the path, but they can be bypassed without major trouble (some were cleared just that day). The summit is still surrounded by a considerable snow mass, which must be crossed in the last 5 min of walking if you want to reach the hut or summit.

Today to Crna Prst from Kal village. Quite a long drive to that village. Then through the forest about two hours. When the forest ends, we see flowery meadows. Snow has trampled some a little, but primroses, globeflowers, alpine hairy ones and tufted anemones are still nice. Crna Prst top still all in snow, but no access problems.

Up here from the pasture under Lisec I wouldn't go.

Also the turkey rožce - bulbous anemone.

Today on Crna Prst from Kal hamlet. Summit accessible without trouble, as the path is fully cleared of fallen trees (thanks to PD Podbrdo members) and snow-free. Two snow patches near the top and around the hut, but easily avoided. Next weekend the hut on top will probably already be open. nasmeh

PS: From the top I saw that the path from Orožnova hut to Crna Prst is still fully snow-covered.

Today after work on Crna Prst.
On the north side of Crna Prst, at about 1550m snow starts. Higher (under the characteristic rock where the path turns left) no more snow. Otherwise these days it's melting, everything flows.
The hut on Crna Prst was aired today. Officially not yet open, but one can get to the beer nasmeh

Even this short tour didn't pass without snakes. This time ran into two adders, one escaped, the other posed nicely zavijanje z očmi

Definitely I'll go up there probably next week after shift, because for the weekend they forecast bad weather and this time from the Bohinj side.

Yesterday to Crna Prst past Oroznova to Lisec.
Ice axe is still mandatory...although some prefer to make steps with poles. But that's another story.
Descent via planina za Crno goro, where there's only one snowfield...equally dangerous for slipping.

Next week I plan to go exactly via planina za Crno goro. By then that snowfield will surely be smaller.

Well, yesterday I finally did the announced tour. You have to go towards Soriska and after Nemski rovt village turn right onto the gravel road that takes us past two planinas to the starting point. In a good hour we are at Planina Za Crno goro. It's a nice planina - unfortunately no longer pasture. Then again in one hour to Crni vrh. No snow anymore. The hut was already open. On Saturday I think the finish of the mountain run will be here - Race of Four Municipalities. The path from Planina Za Crno goro is already marked with tapes.

This is the only steeper section of the path before the saddle below Črna prst.

We are already almost at the top of this scree slope.

Črna prst is already revealing itself to us.

This is already the junction below the saddle.

Up there I last went from the village Kal.

Also rožce ture - common mountain rock-rose.

Start and finish of the Mountain Marathon of Four Municipalities is in Podbrdo. Come cheer. Weather will be great.

Brane, just a small correction. The planina is called Planina za Crno goro, as it lies below the peak Crna gora. nasmeh

otiv, I already corrected it. Entering was a bit too fast. Next time I'll take the classic approach - via Planina Za Liscem, via botanical path. In two weeks the flowers will surely have labels. Once in July via Planina Osredki. End of July also via the lower road past former Menciger hut, past Planina Bareča dolina. In Javoir area park and then via Planina Suha to traverse via Rodica to Crna Prst. I did this traverse and it's nice. Last year the mountain road to Javoir was passable.

Today again to Crna Prst.
First we cheered the mountain marathon runners then to neighboring Lisec.
Path to C.p. via planina za Crno goro is dry. From Crna Prst we descended to the western cirque towards Lisec. There's still lots of snow there. Lisec ridge is already full of flowers. Well, again couldn't avoid snakes velik nasmeh

Since we missed the marathon start on Saturday, we had a make-up yesterday. velik nasmeh

We miscalculated a bit, so we stopped at Crna Prst, it's true that with a group of 20 it's harder to run the whole trail at once than solo. Actually it was a PD Medvode trip, starting at Petrov breg and ending in Bohinjska Bistrica. So it wasn't too short and not all too ordinary, we newly trod an old shepherd path. We thus extended the marked path by an hour and a half, as at the lowest point of the marked path (marshy part Na Kalu), we left it, crossed the left slopes and joined the marked path from Podbrdo. In the end we counted 9 hours of walking and solid 1400m ascent. No special features on the path, except the snow tongue towards Oroznova hut where caution is needed, on the shepherd path more attention is required as it constantly runs along slopes above steep gullies and isn't reliable everywhere. About flowers I won't, there are enough for the whole forum.

When we finished arranging the botanical path we saw a thirsty group from PD Medvode at Orožnova hut.
The old shepherd path you mention was once a fully official path (approach to C.p. from planina za Crno goro). The path has been closed for some years because stones fly onto it (seen live) and it's right that it's closed.
Shame we didn't meet.

Nice job, it'll be even nicer when everything blooms on this side. The shepherd's path is passable, but you can see it's not well trodden. We joked that our guide got euros from the hunters to lead us along the path to tread it in. nasmeh

A little below the summit there's a small snow patch, but you can bypass it with some caution or cross it for a few meters. We didn't need winter gear. Good luck!

Yesterday to Crna Prst via the classic path from Planina Za Liscem, along the botanical path. To the starting point below the planina, which is above the forest or forest road, only twenty minutes to the planina and the hut on the planina, which is open. This is the upper road that takes us below the planina with a right fork above Nemški rovt village. This road goes on to Soriška planina. At the start it says use permitted only for landowners. We reach this planina starting above the former Mencinger hut on the marked path. Until recently the path was officially closed due to landslide. Don't know current status. Indeed small snow patch on botanical path at bend below rocks, but melting well.
