At Planika I haven't had bad experiences yet, more at Kredarica, but somehow I don't hang it on the big bell,.. next time rather elsewhere

Just like everywhere; if they don't issue you a receipt, you don't have to pay

re bojan 2857 Sorry, but, have you ever left a shop or restaurant without getting a receipt for the service?,or does it mean for hut renters that above 1000 m there's no sin?

Just tell him to give you a receipt. Then hang it on the wall. Damn, some have problems, just breathe a bit, it'll get you too from all the fuss and bitterness.

I was a witness to an event on the mountain .., Guest orders tea, gets an empty pot with tea filter. After 10 minutes asks for hot water, then "waiter" insults him: do you think you're in a hotel?.... ??

Re Boris No fuss or bitterness in me. Do you yourself ask for receipt in valley shop or eatery?

I agree with @fanton. I don't feel like fighting in huts for receipts, but it's not right that taxes are not paid, wherever. I don't remember where and when I last got receipt in mountain hut. Tax evasion, corruption, mobbing, crony capitalism, moral crisis, they go hand in hand. If against it, you're bitter. Here see where we are now.

Yeah right, they are awful, 95% hutkeepers so rich they fly helicopters around. We poor must walk.

re BorisM In my opinion, you're one of the renters, hope no "uncle" in the background again. I'm one of 95% PZ members who seriously take our mission of nature protection, walk on foot, pick up trash and carry it to the valley as mountaineering and environmental conscience dictates. Let this be the end of the debate, was not the intent to moralize about wealth, but only about honesty and equality. lp

Yes, today's specialty is raw onion skins and smoke from smoked sausage. For all that we can issue a receipt too. Paranoja press

Experience on Velika Planina today, early afternoon at two well-known huts offer miserable. Huge crowds, probably not first time, logically need to prepare for that, shortage of serving staff too. Because we visit also huts harder to access, offer there top-notch, surprised us.

Obviously beauty of mountains included also in order price list. In Bohinj end, with toll you pay, all nice and right, but in few years nothing changed, on Krstenica pasture get two teas and one shot schnapps for 7 euros, and don't even know if welcome... Where are we?

Yesterday very positive experience with keeper of Cojzova koča, friendly, obliging and calm person . Seems to me compared to last year new keeper??? Or forgot a bit. Anyway, nice to return to such hut.

Here, I can only praise the lady and the gentleman who are the keepers of Kovinarska koča in Krma. Excellently maintained surroundings of the hut and the hut itself. Both are very friendly. The gentleman has a knack for woodwork and made kids' playgrounds in front of the hut himself, etc... I really recommend stopping by them for sour milk and žganci or some homemade sausage....

Since you mention the Hut in Krma, a shepherd, as he introduced himself, discouraged me from it three weeks ago, when we were picking flowers for tea, a mare appeared on the meadow and followed us, craving petting. I made a photo, praised her - stroked her head, then that shepherd rushed in with the car and started yelling all around what we were doing with his horse. Looks of those present and disgust at such a shepherd (by registration and accent, poor lowlander), then he sped back to the hut, obviously to his bottle, and discouraged us from the hut - pity!

Experiences vary, like keepers. As mentioned, yesterday on Velika Planina they advertised the offer on boards in front of and in the huts. But the advertised dishes were gone soon after 12. Well, remove the items from the boards, not leave queues of dissatisfied people. We will avoid such huts from afar in the future.

Since there is so much talk about huts and keepers, friendliness, unfriendliness of service, about prices I won't philosophize, as it's a bit beside the point for me. If some "item" runs out, it's logical and I won't complain about it. A few vacation days, puffing a bit over the hills, of course I also stopped at some hut. Hut on Jezero pasture: polite, don't understand why they don't keep žganci, but that's their policy. Andrejev dom on Slemen: just serve because they have to. Hut on Smrekovec: polite, but without soul. Kriška gora: friendly, obliging. Kriška planina, Pr. Florjan: friendly and the best sour milk this year Lešanska planina: nice, friendly. Hut on Loki under Raduha: really nice pasture, friendly, obliging. Hut at Merjasec on Vogel: friendly and obliging, only the sour milk they "slightly" palmed off on me, at least three days old and really inedible. Dom Valentina Staniča: nice, obliging, friendly. I can write, no problems anywhere, I just gladly return to some.

@jana1966: that's probably the shepherd from the pasture above Krma. The mare is apparently his, but usually on the meadow around the hut. But this shepherd is really weird. We met him near the hut when we were going to Triglav and he for food. He was super friendly and invited us for food the next day when returning. But the next day the guy on the pasture was so drunk and rude that we left immediately
