Skala123, from where did you start?
Maybe someone knows if the road to Jermanca is passable with a car?

Otherwise nice pics nasmeh

Today I went to Kamnik Saddle, we drove to Jermanca, the road is in excellent condition - years ago it was much more destroyed. On the upper part I was surprised by snow, I thought the sun had already melted it all. In the morning the snow was hard, so that walking was pure pleasure. The hut was open, they say it's open every weekend. Enjoying the beauties was marred by the accident of a mountaineer who with his friend wanted to climb Brana, but sadly it was his last trip for him. That's how it is, there are still winter conditions in the mountains!!!

Was there another accident on the path to Brana or what?

Yes, I also saw a military helicopter a bit after 11 o'clock when I was going to Dedec. Brana really doesn't spare in winter mrk pogled

Otherwise I wanted to comment on the road to Jermanca... it is passable, but there's also a sign below prohibiting traffic for all vehicles. Today foresters were working above the road a bit below Jermanca, some logs landed across the whole road. Some not so heavy that they couldn't be removed, some really substantial. Given that these logs were rolling down the slope towards the road, I don't dare imagine what would happen if a log and a car met at the wrong moment - another tragedy!?

I also had a helicopter fly over me on Hudih Koncih towards Kamniški vrh. Do we really push at all costs to conquer the highest peak, at all costs? Don't rush winter and go higher in better conditions, from my end you were nicely visible on Kamnik Saddle, isn't that enough-GOOD LUCK!

I'm interested in the path from Okrešlj to Kamnik Saddle. What's the path like when rocks start, first pitons, if under snow, do you need 2 ice axes and so on,
please info for today, cuz my buddy's interested, he'd go tomorrow on that path.
thanks

Morning snowfall didn't deter me from the memorial hike to Kamnik Saddle called Kamnik memorial for ski and ice axe, dedicated to deceased Kamnik mountaineers. For that purpose the hut was open, practically no new snow on the path.
So as not to repeat too much, here are just a few photos.

New snow at Kamnik Saddle due to drifted banks or better below the saddle is quite a lot (sinks to your ass), but the path was well trampled, the spring sun has its power. Snow settled and melted fast in the afternoon. Below the summit there was still quite some wind in the morning filling the track continuously, and it was occasionally quite strenuous.
The mountains above Kamniška Bistrica are white, but they won't be for long.1

At Pastirci in the morning already approx. 20 cm of snow3
On the last slope more snow.4
Barrier from the hut5
And Planjava.6
On the way back in the lower part already everything is bare, only this ice candle on the tree, as if it were thickening even more, despite 8 degrees and the sun.7

Man, really, you used so much time, don't mess around nasmeh
Some are happy if they reach Pastirci in this time.
No hard feelings, it's important to enjoy on the path nasmeh

In the mountains you should never rush anywhere, because it can quickly happen that you won't need to rush anywhere anymore!
You gotta look around a bit and admire nature because that's the point of our mountain visits and not running around hills and messing with time.

This I have to comment on! Today I went to Boč and there are TONS of forest mice. You hear them at every step, rustling in the woods, darting across the road. Clearly there's some kind of epidemic!

On Kamnik Saddle my brother and I had a great time yesterday. First we took the bus at 7 to Kamniška Bistrica. Then we went to Pastirci and had a break there. On the way to Pastirci there were lots of mice. Higher up from Pastirci we crossed some snow patches that are melting fast. At the top the hut was open, they serve only drinks. Two military helicopters flew to the saddle. On the way down we saw a flock of ducks.
When we got down we went to cool off at the source of Kamniška Bistrica. The weather was clear all day. Since bus connections are few we had time till 17:40 when the last bus goes.
