Today at Kamnik Saddle, weather beautiful, sunny, views wonderful, goes without crampons, after 10 strong thaw and avalanches from Brana flying one after another, booming away. Due to thaw lots of sinking on descent, need to be careful not to slip. Wonderful day at Kamnik Saddle.

It looks like the avalanches were really bad, overturning part of the forest and the shelter at Pastircih.

Today we finished the week in style. Kamnik Saddle was quite inviting. Snow starts from the basin where the turn-off for Srebrno sedlo is. With every step it gains height and there's quite a bit of it. Just before Pastirci avalanche remains are visible, and today it was avalanching decently from surrounding peaks - but not dangerous for hikers, surprisingly many of them. Only at the top did we realize that the Memorial for ski and ice axe was taking place. Wonderful sunny and warm weather made the day even more magical.

Going down was fine also on that last one

sometimes the leg stayed completely in the snow

This morning, not too early, to Kamnik Saddle with a friend. Snow starts below Pastirci and in the morning there was not much sinking. Also above Pastirci on the scree no crampons were needed. Up above before the hut it was so hot that we were shirtless up there. Avalanches on Brana are quite active so there's something to see and hear. Snow is getting more rotten so the way back is already a bit harder on the scree. The day was really beautiful, but I don't know how it will be after the next bad weather they're forecasting. Good and safe steps to all.

@eftomi Soon after Pastirji snow starts, the ascent is direct as seen on pics 7 and 14.

Today after a long time back at Kamnik Saddle. After morning hesitation about the weather conditions I still decided to try. Almost no snow on the path, the hut was closed today due to the weather (snowflakes with wind).

I see you had a nice time, I'm interested in which direction you went? I'm planning to go this Saturday from Logar Valley to Okrešelj and on to Kamnik Saddle. If you were from that direction, is hiking footwear enough or should we have crampons too?

I went from Kamniška Bistrica where winter gear is no longer needed. On the north side there is more snow - I think it's recommended to take crampons along.

On the path to Kamnik Saddle, specifically on Jermanci, tree felling is taking place (Monday to Friday).
We ask all mountain visitors to obligatorily respect the foresters' instructions and the warning sign so that no accident happens. Thanks

Today at the saddle, I went on reconnaissance to see if it would go to Brana, but ended up having tea in the hut velik nasmeh

Had mandatory ice axe and crampons, of course, but it was blowing pretty nasty and on top of Brana an ugly cloud persisted. Situation from the north side can be seen in pictures. Afternoon probably nicer, cloud gone, me already in Lj ...
