Today it was quite lively at Kamnik Saddle, as forecasters promised a nice day. Snow is no longer an obstacle anywhere, the only obstacle is the truck that eftomi photographed on 18.5., now moved a bit higher. If you approach from the lower path, you don't see it of course. Hut is open, stove is fired up because outside there are more winter than summer temperatures. Nearby peaks were deserted, as ascent to any still requires winter gear.

Today to Kamnik Saddle and further to Planjava but I changed my mind because on the way to Planjava snow surprised me on the scree and I turned back preferably because I had no crampons. Otherwise lots of hikers and all more or less to the hut. Above Brana fog was swirling.

I'm interested if anyone has gone to Kamnik Saddle via Okrešelj? Thanks

Hello,
next Sunday I have the following tour planned: in the evening to Kamnik Saddle from the hut at Rinka waterfall past Eagle's Nest. Monday morning first to Brana and then to Planjava. I'm wondering if there is any circular path from Planjava or Brana to return to the starting point?

From the top of Planjava you can continue along the ridge to Ojstrica / to Škarji (about 2 hours), then descend to Logar Valley either past the Hut at Klemenča jama (you reach Dom planincev) or along an unmarked and poorly visible path over Grlo (you reach Logarski kot).

@užitkar: On both "circular paths" from Ojstrica (Klemenča jama and Grlo) there is still lots of snow, so winter gear is necessary. The scree under Škarji to the saddle (under Rjavčki vrh), where the path splits towards Grlo and Klemenča jama, is still under snow; the lower part of Grlo is still flooded, probably the snowfield under Rjavčki vrh too. The path around Rjavčki vrh to Klemenča jama is also under snow. Also under the wall at the entry to the wall on the path to Kamnik Saddle there is still much snow; the same situation on the north side of Brana, where the path over scree is mostly under snow.

Today first time to Kamnik Saddle from Logar Valley, past Rinka waterfall and Okrešelj. Path very nice and interesting, some snow in places. Weather warm, sunny. Views along path really beautiful

@planinka eva That "some snow in places" I'd supplement a bit. At the entry to the rocks it is quite nasty and in the last part a quite steep snowfield. Footprints are made, but still the passage is tricky, especially on descent. Ice axe comes in handy (possible without too). Yesterday there was also a slip there, luckily without consequences. So - path is nice, but at least in such conditions not to underestimate.

primoza, that's gross exaggeration. What traps does the Kamnik Saddle tour have - except maybe on the road to Kamniška Bistrica?

hehe - traps on Kamnik Saddle - like reading some really witty joke. primoza - if you "tour" from Kamniška Bistrica to Kamnik Saddle as you describe it, my advice is - NEVER venture into hills or mountains. (for your safety and others around you)
