The road to Jermanca is passable and 100% dry. Snow/ice starts only in the gully. To "kamrca" easily without crampons. Crust starts at two hills, "fleha" slope under hut icy and no go without crampons. Happy and safe steps!

On Saturday my Mirjam also decided with a friend for a winter ascent to Kamnik Saddle. Start from Kamniška Bistrica when it was already daylight, road dry, then slowly to the saddle in cloudy weather and poor visibility. Despite that, they somehow reached the top, of course with crampons and ice axe, as the path before the summit is frozen and dangerous for slipping. After a short rest in the winter room they went down to the valley, on the way they also practiced slipping with the ice axe and walking with snowshoes, if needed for future ascents. Nicely spent day despite slightly worse conditions.

Road dry to the top but heavily rutted in places. Old snow starts about 100 elevation meters before Pastirci. From recent windthrow the forest is all nicely cleared. Above Pastirci snow cover quickly thickens and debris all under snow. At latest at Kamrca gaiters and crampons come into action, in today's case when there was strong wind under the hut also good snow goggles. Due to the mentioned strong wind at the top no one peeked towards Logarska. The visit was quite large today with divine blueness.

Not much more snow compared to Julian Alps and Karawanks here.
At this height with snowshoes you'd sink to mid-gaiter, nothing extra. Difference 30 cm.

redbull - for normal mortals (read-hikers), there's way too much, so at this height just the right amount of snow for you, since you're out-of-series.
