There are also those who for various reasons drive higher and can't start tours from lowlands. E.g. health or other problems. Some have small kids so we drive a bit higher and adapt the tour... Don't think only about yourself. Everyone has their reason. Good luck

For kids it especially holds that the lower path is more suitable for them. Parents mustn't think only of themselves and must adapt tours to them, not to themselves. Exception is really someone older who still wants to view Logarska from saddle but can't from valley anymore.

dprapr And what should "real mountains" be like? Bah, no, below treeline it's really hard to speak of real mountains...

Good ideas, sure. I think we should extend a road to Korošica too. Such a big plain up there is perfect for parking. Shame mostly only cows use it.

@ NYG : If you think that way, then plain above Pastirci suitable for parking too. Well, in Austria, Germany and France they'd have done it looooong ago. But I think better parking lower so at least hidden in forest. Also always consider Costs and Safety, and sense. So for Korošica too close enough if parking at Jermanci. Let cows and sheep shit there further so smells more of poop than exhaust, as experienced on many mountains. Sad indifferent people ignore livestock greenhouse gases because they like shit smell obviously. Sad. Lp.

The cart track (since it's not really like a road) to Jermanca hasn't been repaired yet.

Yes, apparently they waited for those storms to calm down a bit. But, what, when the weather will be increasingly more extreme in the coming years, so it would really be better if they already poured concrete with fibers to Jermanca, and we'd have peace with constant repairing. But, sadly some leading people don't want good for the people, therefore they hinder his hikes to the Mountains. Sadly.

Or they would put a barrier at KB and sow grass along the road, then peace with eternal complaining about what the road is like... wolf fed, goat slimmer, because she'll have to walk those extra 20 min. But I haven't read bigger nonsense... that hikes to mountains are hindered because some kilometer of forest road to HIGHER starting point isn't fixed.... hahahaha... what all this country carries....

From first hand I learned that they planned to asphalt the road. When plans were already prepared and some money from EU funds secured, they quarreled because some wanted a bike path along the edge, others sidewalk and street lighting. Therefore, for now nothing else to expect than what grega_z_brega promises. Thanks Grega!

Turbo, that was explained so nicely and convincingly that even politicians could learn something from this fine speech. Almost all of us had tears in our eyes from such beautiful promises; almost fairy-tale-like!

I see that the problem is those few tens of cars daily on Jermanci, while there are kilometers of queues daily at the border because half of Slovenia rushes to Croatia, I haven't noticed excessive concern for pollution of Istrian forests... If there is a road, it's nice to jump to some Brana as quickly as possible without afternoon storms catching you. In August and September there's really no problem hiking from KB too...

@trdi You're going a bit earlier to avoid afternoon thunderstorms, right? No need to hike after lunch. I went today already at 3am, and I wasn't even the first. And then I was back by 7, because I had to drop by KR, where I had to be before 8am.

iUnknown You're going a bit earlier to avoid afternoon thunderstorms, right? No need to hike after lunch. I've said this several times: if you hike at such inhuman hours, maybe slightly lower chance of being caught by a storm, but much higher risk of falling asleep at the wheel on the way back. Ergo, overall safer to go at a more normal time.

@jax That's no inhuman hour at all, unless you're sleepy. I get up just a bit later every day. This early rising is like changing time zones. You get used to it. Just go to bed earlier instead of midnight. And don't talk about sleeping at the wheel. If you have issues, sleep at home on the couch, then you won't fall asleep driving, and others won't have problems with sleepy drivers in traffic.

Morning has its rules that favor mountain lovers, especially now with such changeable weather, not to mention the heat soon to dominate the hills.
