Yesterday everyone was at the saddle. The path goes straight up, so it's interesting watching folks in sneakers, crampons etc. first on the ascent and even nicer on the descent. A couple of tough alpine princesses in tights and t-shirts without backpacks, don't want to know how cold they were up there
Darwin luckily doesn't work here. People apparently think they went to Rožnik...
Then we put on thicker gear, helmets, ice axes and peeked around the corner towards Brana. Ice cliffs and wind aplenty.  And we took pics, it started snowing hard and we turned back. But it was super to look a bit higher in the homeland again after a long time.

Looks like they fixed the camera or that guy got bored of the view and went to the valley before snowfall, because the snow looks untouched.

Conditions are also different from weeks ago and even below the saddle it can slide quite nicely.

They trampled up over the weekend, on top windblown and crazy nice. You can't get really high by car. But, I think there was already an avalanche report this week, so better somewhere else.

Only Kamniško saddle is not so problematic as far as avalanches go. Of course there are, so no one thinks the slope above "two hills" doesn't slide or under "grannies" everything slides and I saw it personally and really no playing around. But more problematic than the Saddle is the path from Jermanca to Klin or the bench or better known junction Kamniško saddle - Srebrno saddle or Kamniški Dedec. On this plain there are three very active avalanche fields that release from direction towards Brana. Photo 1. January 2020.

Yes true as you wrote. I too once on an apparently completely safe path towards Trupejev poldne ran into an avalanche that flew from right Kopišče. (Link: Slika
Always in summer it's good to check where spruces have stripped lower branches and where there's lots of scree and channels that are traces of winter avalanches.

If there's a report of an avalanche this week, it's just good information that it shouldn't repeat there if there are no additional precipitation. Tomaž, such avalanches happen, but quickly after snowfall.

What danger do such shallow avalanches in the forest represent? There are trees after all. I don't see broken trees in the picture so the moving mass isn't large.

It's not necessary that the shallow avalanche buries you; you can for example lose your balance and the trouble is there...
