Yesterday to Lubnik via hunters' path, which I hadn't walked before, so the one with fixed ropes . Actually, from the whole ascent path so far I'd only walked one part, namely from St. Tomaž to Zalubnikar; all else was new. So, start at Pr'Birt inn, then via Muje farm to St. Tomaž, great viewpoint, church interesting from all sides. Then past Zalubnikar farm, as mentioned, then sharply left to hunters' path, which winds at the same height far to the right towards forest clearings ahead. Weekend owner Beno warned us on the extreme caution needed on this path. Especially now, because the terrain is steep and there's lots of dry leaves on the path, slippery like banana peel. His words sounded very serious, and I took them seriously. We had to traverse quite far to reach the cables (thanks hunters), where otherwise there'd be no salvation in case of slip. There we headed up the ridge, into quite steep pathless world of rocks, leaves, roots and trees. Everything came in handy for ascending, so steps were more secure. Attention was directed only on them, as the terrain is really steep, hence joy much greater when we spotted the chapel ahead, a bit off the marked path. We returned via the marked ridge path, which is a piece of cake compared to the previously described path. Yeah, I wouldn't return via the ascent path and I think no one does. Rarely visited path, adrenalizing, which has other variants, also that from Soteska, which is also in the plan . True, if there weren't these time limits to the municipality, question if this path would ever interest me, although Jože had nagged me for it several times. Well, now I'm excited, and other variants of this NE ridge interest me.
