Lubnik Hut

Today to Lubnik via NW ridge. Morning in the gorge everything frozen. Boulders more visible and easier to climb and explore... but be careful because rock is red in places and breaks right off. For variety then via hunter's path and eastern scree over boulders to top. There solid II imo. Pretty tricky vertical spot ~8m. Careful velik nasmeh.

from Poljane - via Gabrška gora - to Lubnik

A long-planned route, hiked yesterdaynasmeh. We followed the route description under trips, but here on all nine pages I haven't seen anyone mentioning this route. It's really not short, about four hours of ascent alone. If you also search a bit for the path continuation, miss the right turnoff or get led astray by the beautiful birch grove, it takes even longernasmeh. But it's worth it even if you miss a little, and you see something else you wouldn't otherwise.

We arrived by bus to Poljane and quickly found the right turnoff for this path. The first point with a slightly longer stop was the church on Gabrška gora, named after St. Primož and Felician. We were both there for the first time and couldn't marvel enough at the beautiful surroundings of the church and the church itself. From there we met some visitors who were all already descending. Otherwise on the whole path only one hiker, and even he looked like a runner to me, but not very fast.
The whole route is roughly NE direction, we even ascended to the summit in the same direction, since above Zalubnikar we turned off the marked path and tackled the steep slope, where there were no other hikers either.
We descended via the usual path and in Gabrovo village admired a particularly beautiful colorful tree that couldn't be overlooked. I kept looking back at it, I couldn't believe my eyes.
Really nice trip that just calls for repetition, maybe even in the coming winter.

Really nice hike in the area of two municipalities. But some of us seriously follow the ban on moving from municipality to municipality. Stay healthy, ločanka!

What shall we do with Ločanka?
Let's nail her to the cross.
Let her roast eternally in hellfire,
since she didn't respect the municipal border.

Ah, not because of violators, there are few, people are afraid of fines, but people group at certain starting points and summits because of restrictions. Take MO Kranj, which has access to Storžič from Povelj. Since they can't go anywhere else for more concrete mountains, of course everyone piled on Storžič for the weekend, which had in one day the visit it usually has in a week. And now I ask you - is that normal or does such a measure contribute to a better situation. Of course not, since the concentration of visits increased at least 10x, plus the mountains were occupied by "strollers". Much better would be if, as far as mountains go, we could move freely throughout the region, so the visits would distribute evenly, and there would be enough mountains for everyone nasmeh
@ejti good sarcasm velik nasmeh
@Ločanka, don't worry, if you crossed the border sometime, above the law there's no sin anyway mežikanje

Daily politics indeed doesn't belong on this forum ... but apropos Gorenjska hills: has anyone read somewhere a serious justification supported by concrete numbers on how much greater the risk of transmission of the current coronavirus would be if movement were still limited to so-called administrative regions and not to (usually small) municipalities, for which by the way many a mayor doesn't even know exactly where the municipal borders are drawn ...

@skalar50, about administrative regions we can only dream, now they will lock us in places or max 1 km from home jezen For such a study as you mention, I haven't heard of it yet or seen it online. And even if there was, our Twitto and company would ignore it, since only they know what's good for their sheep eek

Of course a few years ago everyone wanted a referendum and their own municipality. Now we have them.

That's nonsense. In none of the definitions of municipalities from which they were established was there ever any mention of control of crossing their borders.

...due to violators we are threatened with only home area or 1 km from home.

That's also nonsense. Measures are tightening precisely because the people are willing to endure them so stoically. But I think that with the latest announcements of tightening, patience among the people is nearing the end and (I know, wishful thinking) the day will come when they carry the pseudo-fascist Hojs out of the office.

If you don't "confine" yourself at least a little you're doomed to the "Jelko hike"; well at least in most municipalities it's like that.

You can choose Lubnik as your goal regardless of the weather, although I must admit I wouldn't go up in the rain exactlynasmeh. It can be quite slippery.
Today there was a little snow too, but not too much. It went without crampons. People quite a few more than expected for a weekday, practically all paths trampled. Also more than expected.

Snowy paths on Lubnik have been rare in recent years, and that's why we decided today to use this opportunity. And the sight of newly snow-covered trees never disappoints.

Dog must not be let loose without supervision. If it bites then a report is needed also due to rabies.

Today on Lubnik in beautiful sunshine, in the valley foggy and cloudy. Not many views of snow-capped mountains, but the path inspired too. Up the classic, down the ridge where we broke trail, as there had been almost none beforenasmeh. Trees were shedding their load so caution against snow slide was not superfluous.

Below on return smooth and muddy so I sat down hard twice. Maybe I just needed a little restnasmeh. Otherwise wonderful!
oh, the dog was quite calm in Gabrovo today, maybe hates only sticks, not people.
