I was on Stol yesterday. It was foggy and windy, exactly the opposite of the weather forecast. Conditions pleasant overall, no ice, hard in places, crust breaks through in some spots... Worst from Valvasorja to Završnica - leaves, ice, snow... slippery. LP

Hey Sašo, I was also on Stol yesterday. Maybe we even "met"?! No sun for sure, walking super - towards the top it's good to have crampons on boots not in backpack, right? LP

Yesterday a fantastic morning on Stol, at the summit and at the hut absolutely no wind. With the car you can drive to the junction for Potoška planina, further better not without chains. But already quite low there's a small icy section that can be driven over, further it's ok.

Today we went to Stol, from Valvazor along the Žirovnica path. With the car we got almost to Valvazor. Conditions in the lower part of the path were completely spring-like. Higher up the snow was already nicely softened, but it was nice to walk. Our four-legged friend had no problems at all. At the summit we sunned ourselves amid fantastic views. In short, recommended!

Such ascents are a guarantee of beauty ... but I'd like cooler weather. Probably I'm one of the few who isn't too happy about spring rushing ahead Unbelievable, already at six in the morning, in pitch darkness, at Valvasor hut that warm, almost summer breeze was blowing.
Otherwise with such light even us amateurs manage to capture part of that beauty

Today I was on Stol, up žirovniški gor and down. Crampons and ice axe mandatory here, generally lower much ice and bare trail alternate, so I put crampons on higher up. But some places big slip risk, so brains on Snow wise worth going very early as top layer soon softens gets slippery, trail muddy shoe profile clogged. Otherwise tour with royal views, might meet chamois
