Today I was on Stol. It was fantastic, only the wind bothered me a bit in the last half hour. If going by the Zirovnica path, I recommend crampons, as the path is quite icy on some sections. I had the small ones that just slip over the boot. Back via Zabreska, which is almost completely dry and maximally sunny.  When returning, everything was parked at Valvazor, so I guess the road is normally drivable. I myself started in the valley. Cheers!

@Aleksandra, again crazy beautiful photos. Now I need some info: was it very windy up there? Hot, I assume it was very. How about sinking? Can the stamp be taken? I mean, is it under snow or visible? If all goes well, I'll go Saturday. Yay .

Finally, I stepped on it, our highest peak in the Karawanks. Yeah, a long-time desire had been smoldering to go up there once, but it kept eluding me. Well, this time it didn't. Starting point at Valvazor hut, then straight up Žirovniška gora. Yeah, knees hurting, legs cross some snow patches, of course about 50 height meters below the saddle there is more and more snow. It presents no obstacles or problems, as it holds the full weight. From here on, a strong wind accompanies us all the way and doesn't let up . On the top it's nice, but the wind which had incredible power today (similar experience this year in January on Blegoš) quickly forces today's hikers to descend. There were quite a few of them today. At the hut nothing better, so we quickly decided to descend to the valley. Martinčkanje awaits us somewhere among the pines---oh yeah, how good it was. There's also some snow on Zabreška, but it presents no problem. So I recommend descending this path.
In short, it was crazy again, only the wind teased us a bit. Thanks to the group for the nice day spent. Regards.
Also this: the keeper of Valvazorjev dom, on the question why the hut on Stol doesn't operate, answered that he doesn't know, but thinks it's very unwise. He says quite a few people were disappointed by the fact that the hut is open only 3 months. Believe me, today a nice number of hikers would have refreshed there, so it's worth considering opening the hut at least on weekends.

Katty and lanževica mostly summed up yesterday's conditions - Žirovnica path is snowy on some places cca 1700-1900 m, but snow holds well.
To the hut then practically dry, little ridge from Mali stol to path junction from Zelenica or Celovska hut a bit harder, from there to top on snowless spots water streams  On top wind whistling and cold feel unpleasant,
so quick down to hut for shelter. Visitors really many - Valvazor parking full at 10.

enigma - I have Sony DCS-HX1, a few years ago I bought it specifically for the mountains and because it's light. I think now there are others just as light and with even bigger zoom

Stol from Završnica was planned already last week. This weekend I treated myself to it as essential. No snow, except in the gully between the two Stols. Conditions for running ideal. Even on top of Stol it has already blown quite strongly several times. Descent enjoyable - down the snow in the gully to Prižnica. People very few. Achieved time was rather poor (1h 28 min), as a result of sneakers starting to blister and I had to stop to loosen them. And up the snow gully also didn't go the fastest. Still good training.

You're super, a while ago I trudged up the gully with crampons and ice axe and I know what kind of slope it is, let alone running up it. Hats off to you.

If someone goes to Stol these days, let them report how much snow and conditions, from Valvasorjev dom onwards to the top--high chance I'll go Tuesday for May 1st
