like when you read comments you see everyone has a slightly different way of perceiving mountains. I've taken people to Triglav several times, even those with the same problems as you described. But I always chose the approach to the summit from Planika via Triglavska Škrbina. It's well protected path, but you're much less exposed especially to the feeling of openness and of course no walking on the ridge. and one more thing that I find quite important. In August it's the least crowded route. For consideration. Enjoy

andrejp, thanks for the tips . I'm also interested if you then went down the same way or did some loop? How is it down from Škrbina to Dolič? IgorZlodej, where is that part of the path in picture 10 ?

10 pictures are exactly what you're asking Igor about.

Igor, your last year's "friends" from early September are going to Mangart again on Saturday. I advise you to be in full combat readiness,

Normal people walk in the heat, crowds and smear themselves with sunscreen. Abnormal ones walk in the cold, paths are lonely and we watch stars. In plain terms: today again a sunrise on Triglav. And one more question for andrejp or someone who knows: on the path from Planika to Triglavska škrbina there are still snowfields. Since I went at night, I'm not quite sure if they can be bypassed?

I also recommend myself for fresh info on the path from Planika over Škrbina to Triglav, if anyone is going there. We plan to summit Triglav for the first time on this path .

All paths around Triglav dry for some time this year.

Around what time approximately does the sun rise or become visible on Triglav at this time?

On the internet you can find sunrise data for every day. But you must be at the top at least half an hour earlier, because the colors are the most beautiful then. Also, today the sun rose 10 minutes before 6, then each day a minute later.

Zadnjica - Komar - Dolič - Triglav - Kredarica - Kugyjeva polica - ZTP - Kugyjeva pot to Dolina. Paths without peculiarities, at the summit a ceremony for the 120th anniversary of the erection of Aljaž Tower.

Igor, your photos and comments are beautiful and interesting as always. Good thing there wasn't big advertising for the 120th anniversary of Aljaž Tower. Hard to imagine how the hike along the ridge and the crowd of hikers around Aljaž Tower would have gone otherwise. Good luck further!

Yesterday, August 8th, went to Triglav from Kot valley and returned to Kot valley the same day. Ascent went without issues, descent showed fatigue. At Staničev dom I saw Mr. Janez Janša , which doesn't happen every day. Whole tour took exactly 12 hours (06:00 to 18:00), 6.5 up and 5.5 down with breaks. So it's possible to do Triglav up and down in one day. But everyone should consider it's no easy task, most of the tour is through scree and in the sun's heat, you're pretty exhausted at the end if not an athlete. I managed , though I'm no longer a youngster. Nice mountain greetings to all, Vlado.
