Garmont, the same happened to me completely and I ended up at Palec and Zelenjak. No big deal, tomorrow afternoon I'll do it anyway. At least I hope!

Nice, velkavrh, tomorrow I'll tackle it too, also after work. But did you mean gusts of wind by "great caution" on the ridge?

Yes, first time I did the so-called three-hour tour one way after morning shift and time worked out fine. I start from Kranj actually. Had a jam on highway, extra 20 min. Wind was not the issue. Lots of scree on path, quite steep and exposed below ridge and basically whole ridge like that. Down always extra careful not to slip. Best regards. I'm always early! Writing before work!

Start at Ljubelj very optimistic. At least 50 cars, to Zelenica almost nobody (most already up or driving). Obviously not only we believed in stable weather. 
It was pleasantly cold but terribly foggy, so missed right gully to Mala glava. From few dry pics conclude started in Left — end climbed left edge out bit before subpeak where ridge path turns up short steep grass section.  Up cold got worse, blowing hard other side. Then suddenly crowds arrive time to flee. Most lower cars theirs, started camp in lower /oasis/.

Now know why hardly dry pics, rock really crumbly as said and crumbles under you.

Zelenica-Vrtača-Palec-Zelenjak-Suho ruševje-Zelenica
To not open new title, I'll describe the route here.
From Zelenica we went on usual path to Vrtača. After Vrtača summit pathless downhill until we found passage to central scree below Vrtača. Then continued the path uphill on trail in Suho Ruševje valley. At Žleb first turned right to Palec(2026m) and then to both Zelenjak peaks(2024m). For Zelenjak you need to find your way a bit, imaginary trail gets lost among rocks and scree.
From summits of course beautiful views to all surrounding Karawanks peaks.
Returned via Vrtača screes and ended very pleasant day in Ljubelj.

Last Sunday from Ljubelj to Košutica, today from Ljubelj to the left to hut at Zelenica and on to Vrtača. On way back also to hut at Završnica source. Weather wonderful no wind, on return quite hot.

On Mon. from Završnica past hut at source to saddle under Sred.vrh then direct up slope to path. On path occasional snow patches, nothing serious, quite a few people for season. Windless top, super views. Back towards Zelenica, then turn to hut at Završnica source and close loop..
