The Carnic Alps are a long mountain chain located on the border between Austria and Italy. The highest peak of the mentioned Alps is Monte Coglians (Hohe Warte) at 2,780 m. From the summit, which is in the central part of the Carnic Alps, there is a beautiful view of the mentioned Alps. The easternmost two-thousander of these Alps is Ojstrnik, from which there is a beautiful view also of the Slovenian Julian Alps, but especially of the Italian Julian Alps. In the heart of the Carnic Alps, there are also some wonderful high-mountain lakes that give the Alps additional vitality. The Carnic Alps also attract numerous skiers. The most famous ski resort in this area is Nassfeld, which attracts hundreds of thousands of skiers every winter.
