Vorderer Bärenkopf is 3249 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 2 km west-southwest of peak Großer Bärenkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Heinrich Schwaiger Haus, located 5km north-northeast. Closer is bivouac Gruberscharten-Biwak, which is located 3km to the northeast. 7 km south-southeast of the peak there is lake Sandersee. 1.5 km northeast from the summit there is glacier Westliches Bärenkopfkees, 1.6 km west-northwest from the summit there is also glacier Karlingerkees. East-southeast of the summit is the valley Käfertal.
